KPMG is currently seeking a Director in Technology Enablement for our Consulting practice.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead business development including request for proposal responses and presentations and outreach to prospective clients
  • Be a community of practice leader in scaling up the Databricks team and mentoring staff
  • Direct and lead a team for technical design and development activities for implementation of large-scale data solutions in Databricks to support multiple use cases (delta lake, reporting and analytics, AI/ML)
  • Provide thought leadership and architect complex solutions for Databricks specific solutions and/or where Databricks is one component of a larger data ecosystem that are scalable and futureproof
  • Lead design and development of technology and data architectures to support client solutions leveraging best practices for cloud data warehouse migrations
  • Capture and translate business and technical requirements, perform hypothesis-driven consulting and lead project management and client relationship development
  • Translate advanced business data, integration and analytics problems into technical approaches that yield actionable recommendations, across multiple, diverse domains; communicate results and educate others through design and build of insightful visualizations, reports and presentations
  • Exhibit strong knowledge of the Databricks ecosystem and can clearly articulate the value proposition of cloud modernization/transformation to a wide range of stakeholders
  • Own all project aspects as the end-to-end Databricks project delivery leader including budget estimation, resource planning, resourcing selection and hiring, project planning, execution and delivery, quality delivery review, and project administrative and logistics

Qualifications:

  • Minimum eight years of recent experience as a project owner/lead, cloud data lake/warehouse architect, designer, developer, data scientist, or AI / ML engineer; professional services consulting experience preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field from an accredited college/university; advanced degree preferred
  • An experienced leader working with executives and leading projects relating to cloud modernization, data migration, data warehousing experience with cloud-based data platforms (Databricks); Databricks certified
  • Hands-on working knowledge of topics such as data security, messaging patterns, ELT, Data wrangling and cloud computing and proficiency in data integration/EAI and DB technologies, sophisticated analytics tools, programming languages or visualization platforms
  • Experience designing solutions on cloud infrastructure and services, such as AWS, Azure, or GCP; hands-on technical experience with SQL and Apache Spark preferred
  • Exceptional verbal/written communication skills with ability to effectively interact with individuals at all levels of responsibility and authority; must be able to prioritize, delegate and foster the development of high-performance teams to lead/support an environment driven by customer service and teamwork; highly analytical and detail oriented; highly motivated with strong sense of urgency
  • Ability to travel on an as needed basis
