KPMG is currently seeking a Director, Risk Management Policy to join our Risk Management policy  organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the day-to-day management of RM functional policy including regularly reviewing and refreshing policy content, as well as prioritizing, facilitating, and managing RM functional policy projects
  • Directly lead the development of Risk Management functional policy content, with a focus on the firm’s Audit practice, including content creation, review, approval, monitoring, maintenance, training, communications, and integration of authoritative sources
  • Understand, collaborate, and effectively challenge 1st LoR’s approach to operationalizing functional policy, and provide consultative advice on policy compliance management and processes
  • Work with functional RM leadership in setting the strategic direction for, and actively manage, Risk Management Audit functional policy projects, including ensuring alignment to the firm’s most important risks
  • Support and lead cross-functional policy development projects and governance activities, as necessary
  • Actively monitor internal and external authoritative sources to stay abreast of any changes that have the potential to impact the functions and associated policies, as well as lead and/or participate in various continuous improvement Risk Management projects and initiatives, as necessary

Qualifications:

  • Minimum ten years of recent experience, ideally in a professional services firm, leading teams in a complex and diverse cross-cultural environment with impeccable judgement, the highest standards of integrity and the ability to proactively address the perspectives of others
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university or equivalent work experience
  • Strong working knowledge of Audit topics and functions, business processes and applicable laws, regulations and professional standards required, along with a comprehensive knowledge of policy development methodologies and the process mindset required to identify, assess, and address challenges with respect to operationalizing policy requirements
  • Ability to build strong relationships and collaborate, negotiate, and influence Risk Management colleagues, and functional policy stakeholders, including business stakeholders, in the development and implementation of policy content. Confidence to engage with Risk Management and Business leadership persuasively, while establishing oneself as a trusted advisor of the Policy Office
  • Experience managing multiple projects concurrently with excellent organizational, analytical, and critical thinking skills, strong written and verbal communication abilities, and the ability to have a broad perspective, while maintaining attention to detail
  • Aptitude to work independently as well as part of a team and the ability to maintain the resiliency needed to see complex projects to conclusion, despite setbacks
  • Ability to travel, as needed
