    KPMG is currently seeking a Manager, Economic Sanctions and Export Controls to join our Risk Management organization.

    Responsibilities:

    • Contribute to the Economic Sanctions and Exports Controls programs and is responsible for helping to drive outcomes which have a material effect on the department as a whole
    • Be accountable for defined projects within the Economic Sanctions and Exports Controls program, including gathering information from stakeholders, comparing, and evaluating possible courses of conduct and tracking progress of the project
    • Regularly exercise discretion and independent judgement; relies on guidance for more complex decision-making; provide recommendations for strategies and programs to improve productivity, service level and quality of advice and guidance that make a meaningful impact
    • Establish trust with peers and management across the Risk Management function and influence the thinking and approach around individual projects; contribute to enhancements of economic sanctions and export control processes, guidance, and tools, as well as the group’s strategic planning
    • Manage relationships with third party service providers who support sanctions screening, including planning of short-term needs, oversight of work product and acting as the first point of escalation; manage the relationship with screening software service providers and internal IT resources to identify and resolve technology issues and improvements
    • Develop economic sanctions and export control training content for in-person and web-based trainings; prepare draft responses to ad hoc export control or sanctions questions from the business; liaise with other departments to file U.S. export control declarations for exports of IT resources; determine export control classification numbers (ECCNs) and Bureau of Industry compliance requirements for applications 

    Qualifications:

    • Minimum five years of recent and relevant experience
    • Bachelor's Degree in related field from an accredited college/university; Juris Doctor or Master's in related field preferred
    • Experience analyzing sanctions screening results; proven track record of process engineering and relationship building skills
    • Strong verbal/written communication skills, with ability to effectively interact with individuals at all levels of responsibility and authority; must be able to prioritize, delegate and foster the development of high-performance teams to lead/support an environment driven by customer service and teamwork
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, MS Teams and proficiency in a sanctions screening system is preferred; strong trouble-shooting and organizational skills and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
    • Ability to participate in resource planning processes based on defined organizational plans
