Description
LEIDOS Intelligence Group uses a wide range of capabilities and analytic expertise in the area of space launch vehicle and missiles, UAV’s, and satellite technology to support our customer’s mission to defend against evolving threats around the world. Our team’s focus is ensuring our intelligence customers have the right intelligence to keep pace with an ever-evolving security landscape and succeed in their pursuit to protect people and critical assets. LEIDOS currently has an opening for a Senior Aerospace Materials/Manufacturing Engineer working on-site at a customer location in Northern Virginia. This position is part of a team of Senior Subject Matter Experts.
Primary Responsibilities
Provide senior subject matter expertise to advise and support government customer’s analyses on aerospace materials, manufacturing, equipment, and infrastructure associated with ballistic missile, space launch vehicle, UAV and spacecraft proliferation and production. Conduct research and analyses on a broad range of aerospace manufacturing materials and processes.
Basic Qualifications
A Bachelor's Degree and 15+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 13+ years of prior relevant experience.
Minimum of 10 years of hands-on industrial experience required.
Knowledge and experience in the range of materials, material properties, and material manufacturing processes and techniques used in missile, space launch vehicle, UAV’s and spacecraft manufacturing and assembly.
Knowledge and experience in advanced materials used in aerospace applications, to include selection, application, design and performance.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge and experience in the use of computer-aided design, computer-aided manufacturing process, and machine tools suitable for missile manufacturing, to include 3-D printing and additive manufacturing.
Familiarity with foreign materials and manufacturing processes a plus. 15+ years of hands-on industrial experience preferred.
Pay Range $128,050.00 - $197,000.00 - $265,950.00
