    Position summary

    lop robust win themes, executive summaries, solution strategies, and ultimately winning proposals. This role ensures all key milestones (e.g., Black Hat reviews, Price-to-Win strategies, How-We-Win sessions) yield actionable insights and drive success. The Capture Excellence SME helps ensure the Leidos Win Plan process encompasses best and innovative practices as well as lessons learned.

    Capture Excellence SMEs actively guide the Win Plan process, using facilitation and analytical skills to ensure workshops produce actionable strategies, compelling win themes, and innovative solutions. They critically assess whether capture milestones are delivering the expected insights and help teams pivot when necessary.

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Support capture teams in the tailoring of the Win Plan for a specific capture
    • On-demand training to assist capture teams with Win Plan knowledge gaps
    • Provide teams with best practices associated with capture artifact development to ensure effective integration of win themes, customer hot buttons, and discriminators
    • Evaluate the progress of priority captures, ensuring alignment with customer priorities and key milestones such as Black Hat, Price-to-Win, and strategy sessions."
    • Facilitate workshops to extract actionable insights, strengthen capture strategies, and ensure milestones produce meaningful contributions to the overall capture plan.
    • Assess capture health across critical milestones, identifying gaps and ensuring teams adapt strategies to address weaknesses effectively.
    • Develop and refine methods for optimizing critical capture activities, including reducing timelines and improving milestone outcomes.
    • Support the Win Plan methodology as it grows and improves
      • Develop new methods for increasing PWin

      • Develop new methods for increasing capture efficiency

    Basic Qualifications

    The successful candidate will have:

    • Bachelor's Degree with a combination of 15+ years of experience

    • 8+ years of direct hands-on capture work experience of sizes ranging from $25M to $200M

    • Deep expertise in leveraging milestone-driven processes such as Black Hat reviews, Price-to-Win analysis, and competitive positioning for complex captures.

    • Experience implementing capture health checks and providing corrective guidance to optimize capture outcomes. Expert knowledge of the business development lifecycle

    • Strong experience as either a capture manager or proposal manager

    • Experience with facilitating workshops or reviews

    • Competent with process improvement techniques and principles

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills

    • Sound decision-making and prioritization skills

    • Superior planning, scheduling and coordinating skills

    • An upbeat, positive, outgoing and personable demeanor with the ability to interact and relate well with Health Solutions BD, Line, SA and capture managers

    • Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously with a commitment to completion of projects on a timely basis

    • A desire to learn and work within a team environment

    • Some local travel outside of the Reston VA area will be required to support reviews

    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products such as PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams

    • Must be a US citizen

    Preferred Qualifications

    Pay Range:
    Pay Range $148,850.00 - $269,075.00

    The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
