    Position summary

    il Engineer** to join the National Airspace System Integration Support Contract (NISC IV) Team, providing support to the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) Infrastructure Engineering Center.

    This position is located in Chicago, IL

    • 25% Telework

    Civil Engineer Primary Responsibilities:

    Provide technical support to the Infrastructure Engineering Center, for accomplishment of project engineering packages:

    • Develop site specific project plans and specifications for solicitation and contracting of engineering projects for FAA approval and acceptance.

    • Perform site surveys to collect site-specific project data and research all standards, construction codes and ordinances.

    • Provide analysis, recommendations, and solutions to issues identified during the site survey.

    Compile and complete project documents as follows:

    • Scope of work and project transmittal.

    • Drawing and specification lists.

    • Operational Risk Management checklists.

    • Furnish information required for the preparation of Purchase Requests (PR) for assigned projects.

    • Furnish information required for the preparation of Change Proposals for assigned projects.

    • List of Government furnished properties.

    • Airspace case documents.

    • Assessment of engineering impacts on Environmental & Safety Compliance Program Project checklists.

    • Drawings and specifications.

    • Engineering cost estimate for project plans per FAA Standard/guidelines.

    • Estimated completion time and project schedule.

    • Provide technical engineering support for all phases of assigned new construction and renovation projects (such as evaluate shop drawings, design proposals, and interpret the technical requirements for adherence to contract documents).

    • Participate in Joint Acceptance Inspections and Contractor Acceptance Inspections on all assigned projects and provide recommended resolutions on all items relating to engineering.

    • Perform engineering studies for feasibility and cost versus benefit.

    • Provide technical input to the Government Technical Interpreter in actions to plan, budget, program, and coordinate the development of engineering projects.

    • Develop project drawings in accordance with the FAA Standard/guidelines.

    Civil Engineer Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor of Science and 4+ years of experience with Civil Engineering Design and experience with tower, shelter, and similar structure projects.

    • Knowledge of Unstaffed Infrastructure Sustainment (UIS) facilities.

    • Ability to obtain a Public Trust Security Clearance Suitability (To be eligible for Public Trust Security Clearance, one must be either a U.S. Citizen OR a U.S. Permanent Resident/Green Card holder who has resided in the U.S.A for the past 3 years of the past 5 years consecutively with no breaks).

    Civil Engineer Preferred Qualifications:

    • Proficiency in AUTOCAD.

    • Knowledge of Heating Ventilating and Air Conditioning (HVAC), power, general building construction techniques, Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT), fire detection, security, site work.

    Please Note: The program budget salary for this role could fall anywhere between $100,000 to $120,000 based on relevant experience and assessment. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.

    Pay Range:
    Pay Range $68,900.00 - $124,550.00
