    The Cybersecurity Services lead will serve as the customer’s single point of contact for issues related to the cyber security mission space. The Lead will serve as the entry point for queries regarding cyber security incidents, and any other questions/concerns regarding cybersecurity services. Coordinate efforts of the SOC include coordinating restoration actions between cybersecurity technicians and ISLs or other non-cyber technicians and contacting relevant cybersecurity service owners when urgent needs require the recall of cybersecurity service technicians. Occasional after-hours support may be required.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Perform coordination or reporting actions between cybersecurity services and the customer’s Information Technology Operations Center (ITOC), Infrastructure Service Leads (ISLs), Enterprise Service Operations Center (ESOC), and Customer Contact Center (CCC).
    • Provide basic troubleshooting services for Cybersecurity/CND service capabilities utilizing checklists, SOPs, and/or other approved documentation provided by government, military, or Contractor personnel responsible for providing cybersecurity services to the enterprise.
    • Provide reporting services to include shift activity logs documenting all troubleshooting and coordination support, After Action Reports for all issues that require troubleshooting and/or service restoration for cybersecurity services, and reporting of cybersecurity incidents reported by the DCNDC and/or cybersecurity auditors
    • Plan, direct, and manage day-to-day activities of contractor security operations staff.
    • Support customer strategic planning to build and mature SOC capabilities
    • Manage and conduct hands-on technical analysis as a supplement to Incident Response and Forensics Teams during high-visibility or high-workload investigations
    • Guide and mentor junior staff
    • Ensure timeliness and quality of reporting produced by the security operations staff to stakeholders
    • Instill and reinforce industry best practices in the domains of incident response, cybersecurity analysis, case and knowledge management, and SOC operations
    • Promote and drive implementation of automation and process efficiencies
    • Act as subject matter expert in several security technologies (depth) with ability to lead across enterprise security domains (breadth)
    • Create job descriptions for new positions and manage annual performance plans for direct reports
    • Provide guidance and leadership to the SecOps team for technology solutions related to the services that the team operates
    • Develop and enforce event response and escalation documentation and processes for Security Operations Center to follow
    • Respond to customer inquiries around security-related questions resulting from security incidents
    • Track emerging security practices and innovations and work with the customer to execute where appropriate.

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Knowledge of cybersecurity and privacy principles
    • Knowledge of computer networking concepts and protocols, and network security methodologies.
    • Knowledge of laws, regulations, policies, and ethics as they relate to cybersecurity and privacy.
    • Knowledge of cyber threats and vulnerabilities.
    • Ability to analyze new attacks and provide guidance to watch floor analysts on detection and response
    • Knowledgeable of the various Intel Frameworks (e.g. Cyber Kill Chain, Diamond Model, MITRE ATT&CK, etc) and able to utilize it in their analysis workflow
    • Experience managing in a 24/7/365 environment
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to communicate and work effectively with other contractors and Government civilians.
    • Highly organized with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to mentor and lead a technical team to include functional management of direct reports
    • TS/SCI w/Polygraph required.
    • US Citizenship is required due to the nature of the government contracts we support.

    Required Certifications

    • GIAC Continuous Monitoring (GMON) or equivalent (CySA+, CCNA – Cyber Operations, CCIH)
    • DoD 8570 IAT Level III equivalent certification (with continuing education where applicable) (CASP, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP, GCED, GCIH)
    • DoD 8570 CND-Analyst/CSSP Analyst equivalent certification (CEH, CFR, CSA+, GCIA, GCIH, GICSP, SCYBER)
    • Splunk Core Certified User

    Education/Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field and 12+ years of relevant experience.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Advanced knowledge in planning, directing, and managing Security Operations Center (SOC) operations for a large and complex enterprise
    • Significant experience supervising and leading employees of various labor categories and technical skill levels in efforts similar in size and scope to a mature Security Operations Center
    • Deep technical understanding of core current cybersecurity technologies as well as emerging capabilities.
    • Demonstrated mastery of the life cycle of cybersecurity threats, attacks, attack vectors, and methods of exploitation with an understanding of intrusion set tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs).
    • Extensive leadership experience creating, building, and maintaining high-performing teams, particularly in a cybersecurity environment
    • Previous experience managing an enterprise SOC
    • 4+ years of experience supervising or leading teams or projects.

    Pay Range:

    Pay Range $118,300.00 - $182,000.00 - $245,700.00

    The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
