    We have several Australian Assignments open for Dash 8 Lead Pilots

    • Opportunity to reside in sunny Broome, Australia 
    • 1-2 years assignment
    • 28 day roster periods, 8 days guaranteed off per period

    Leidos Australia Airborne Solutions provides fixed-wing border surveillance services under contract to the Australian Federal Government. This is the world’s largest outsourced civil maritime surveillance operation, patrolling Australia’s 8.2 million square kilometre Exclusive Economic Zone, operating 10 Bombardier Dash 8 aircraft from our three bases in Northern Australia.

    As a Dash 8 Lead Pilot with the Surveillance team, you will provide essential leadership and support to your entire crew, working diligently, quickly, and professionally, to ensure that each mission is a success. You will command a highly modified regional turboprop aircraft, equipped with state-of-the-art technology and work with a highly skilled team. The position will be based in Broome Australia, a multicultural tourist town in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. An attractive offering of a 14 days roster provided 14 days in advance. You should expect 3-4 flying days per week with the balance being made up of other duties and/or standby. You will average 6.3 hours per flight, and fly up to 1100 hours hours/year.

    To be considered you must meet the following qualifications:

    • Dash-8 type rating with at least 300 hours pilot in command Dash-8 in the last 3 years or at least 500 hours pilot in command Dash-8 total
    • Must be a U.S. Citizen and have a U.S. current passport
    • Must possess a current US Security Clearance, or be eligible to receive one
    • Instructor qualifications will be well regarded

    Education

    • BA/BS or equivalent experience and 5+ years or prior relevant experience. Additional experience may be used in lieu of degree.
    • 2+ years of experience supervising or leading teams or projects.

    Successful completion of the Australian training requirements below:

    • CASA Class 1 Aviation Medical – can be obtained either in Australia or overseas. Medical and eye examiners | Civil Aviation Safety Authority (casa.gov.au)
    • Australian ATPL(A) and Instrument Rating –– applicants who are accepted will have to obtain the exam credits for Australian ATPL Converting an overseas flight crew licence | Civil Aviation Safety Authority (casa.gov.au) ATPL flight test will be conducted as part of your training

    Pay Range:

    Pay Range $97,500.00 - $150,000.00 - $202,500.00
