    ing**. We’re looking for someone who is dedicated to ensuring that every project, no matter how simple or complex, is of exceptional quality. You'll be working directly with clients to make sure that Leidos' reputation for high-quality work is always maintained.

    As a Distribution Engineer, You can expect to:

    • Perform design engineering for Leidos electric utility customers
    • Perform 3rd party make ready design and analysis; potentially work on capital/ reliability design (https://i.e. reconductor, voltage conversion, DG, FLISR, underground, etc. designs)
    • Perform distribution design by creating construction sketches and producing bill of material for 3rd party design
    • Review engineering design packages with clients; Review and organize existing program work
    • Perform functional tasks, planning, and/or customer follow-up
    • Perform scope analysis of work assigned and maintain schedule adherence to advocate client priorities
    • Gain experience in coordinating conflicting utilities and other field engineering design requirements, assessing and developing large design packages for complex cable/conduit projects in dense urban environments, work permit development, easements, and ROW applications
    • Gain the ability to perform QAQC on 3rd party design

    This role may require candidates to work 3-6 months as a contracted payrollee before becoming a permanent Leidos employee

    What Sets You Apart (Background Requirements):

    • A minimum of 2 years of Relevant experience working with Third Party Make Ready Projects for electric utilities
    • Experience and demonstrated proficiency with National Electric Safety Code (NESC)
    • Familiarity with Pole Loading software (O-Calc, Pole Foreman)
    • Demonstrated Experience with development of civil & electrical packages associated with complex cable/conduit in dense urban environments
    • Prior experience and proven proficiency with DDS (Distribution Design Studio) OR STORMS software or other closely related design software
    • Prior experience with AutoCAD
    • Prior QAQC experience is preferred
