    Job Description:

    Leidos has a career opportunity for a Junior Training Developer in support of the Army’s Synthetic Training Environment (STE). Leidos is seeking an entry-level training developer to support the creation, validation, delivery of training products and manuals for a complex distributed simulation-based training system.  The position will require the candidate to interact daily with a broad range of other technical skills and experts.  An outgoing personality that seeks to finds the necessary data and transform it into a training solution or technical documentation is required.  This position will support lead training developers for a range of documents and training outcomes which will be merged into a larger training and support package to be delivered to the customer.  STE is in development in an Agile team-based program.  Candidates must have the maturity and the ability to operate in a fluid environment.

    Candidate must demonstrate a good aptitude for problem solving, be organized and able to communicate to the next level of management.  The ability to grasp the fundamental constructs of learning theory/instructional development is required.  In addition, interested personnel must demonstrate a “can do” attitude and willingness to learn all aspects of the new evolution in military war gaming systems.  Personnel will become heavily involved in video media development in conjunction with this position.

    The successful candidate will have the following responsibilities:

    • Work with and learn from lead Training Developers, System and Software Engineers, and subject matter experts to support the development of training videos and other training materials for a military audience.
    • Operate within an Agile Software Development Life Cycle framework.
    • Consult with instructors and subject matter experts to determine instructional requirements, collect data, customize design proposals, and implement solutions.
    • Collaborate with technical developers/designers to produce media that supports instructional goals and objectives.
    • Use a range of educational technologies in support of synchronous, asynchronous and self-service teaching and learning.

    Basic Qualifications:

    • BA degree in related technical field.  These include:
      • Training System Design
      • Media Design and Production
      • Technical Writing
      • Adult Education
      • Communications
      • Adult Education
    • Good verbal and written skills with the goal to eventually present to a military audience
    • The ability to report work status of assigned projects as needed
    • Strong interpersonal skills
    • Proficiency with MS Office Products (Word, Excel, & PowerPoint)
    • Ability to obtain a DoD SECRET security clearance (US Citizenship is required)

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience working with video media production (capture, editing etc.)
    • Experience on a software development project, especially Agile based development programs
    • Currently possess an active DoD SECRET security clearance
    • Experience in writing technical documentation/products
    • Experience with ADDIE model

    Pay Range:

    Pay Range $39,650.00 - $61,000.00 - $82,350.00

    The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
