Leidos is looking for a top notch candidates to perform Law Clerk I duties in support of one of our federal agency customers in San Francisco, CA.
The Employee will provide a variety of legal support assistance services. Overtime and travel may be required as needed with proper authorization. Individual may support any division/section within depending on the needs of the office at time of hire.
Perform substantive document review and analysis of hundreds of thousands to millions of government documents for responsiveness, privilege, and production in defensive discovery, using document review platforms, including Relativity and continuous-active-learning tool-assisted review.
Perform substantive document review and analysis of hundreds of thousands to millions of documents received from defendants or third parties in affirmative discovery for responsiveness and case development, using document review. platforms, including Relativity and continuous-active-learning tool-assisted review.
Review and analyze spreadsheets, such as auditing results, and writing summary reports of findings.
Conduct factual research to support attorney theories of the case.
Conduct legal research using Westlaw, Lexis, and other tools.
Assist with depositions, witness interviews, and sworn testimony, including drafting outlines and identifying documents to be used.
Create chronologies and timelines.
Create, organize, and maintain various files (electronic and hard copy).
Organize and maintain Relativity, CaseMap, and other e-discovery databases used to track case.
Track and QC productions.
Assist attorneys with all phases of litigation.
Performs other miscellaneous tasks.
The above mentioned duties may be performed as single functions or in combination with one another. One is expected to perform the duties of a Law Clerk I as they relate to those tasks stated above and within the contract as a whole.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Requires Law degree, or currently attending an ABA-accredited law school, having completed at least one year of study or, an equivalent level of legal training or experience or an equivalent level of education may be substituted.
Requires sound working knowledge of federal and state court systems, legal research procedures, and legal research resources.
Thorough knowledge of legal research tools such as LEXIS and Westlaw.
Must have hands-on familiarity with a variety of computer applications, including word processing, databases (such as document review and file management systems), spreadsheets, and imaging.
Role also requires hands-on familiarity with ESI tools and knowledge of eDiscovery procedures and resources.
Ability to consistently deliver highest quality work under extreme pressure will be very important.
Ability to work and interact professionally and effectively with all levels of staff.
Ability to meet established deadlines and work as a team player in a professional office.
Skilled in meeting and dealing with people in a courteous and tactful manner.
Some walking, standing, bending and carrying of small office items
Ability to obtain a security clearance.
Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Experience working in a Government and/or Litigation Support environment in conjunction with basic qualifications, is strongly preferred.
Trial experience very helpful.
Experience with IPRO Eclipse and Relativity, strongly preferred.
Experience with large scale document reviews.
Ability to review a wide variety of documents, both legal and non-legal.
Current or active clearance.
