The Defense Group at Leidos currently has an opening for a Lead A&P Mechanic. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience helping the FAA Part 145 Repair Station. The Lead A&P Mechanic will oversee aircraft maintenance personnel as a working member of the team, while maintaining aircraft in accordance with OEM specifications and FAA regulations. The diversity of working conditions range from an environment where there is little or no physical discomfort, to an environment where inclement weather may subject the individual to severe changes in temperature, wind, rain, etc. Incumbents may be required to work in areas where high noise hazards, exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and electrical shock hazards exist.
Primary Responsibilities
Oversee A&P Mechanics and duty assignment.
Build Phase Inspection packages
Oversee work order maintenance data base entries and corrective actions
Conduct maintenance briefings to team members as necessary.
Provide aircraft maintenance reports to team members and Management as necessary.
Perform or supervise OJT training when required
Provide appropriate technical guidance to maintenance personnel when needed
Provide appropriate policy guidance to maintenance personnel when needed
Brief flight crews of aircraft status as requested
Monitor and maintain documentation of projects assigned
Monitor and enforce other work area policies and procedures related to aircraft maintenance activity.
Submit aircraft maintenance reports as required.
Perform A&P mechanic duties as a working member of the team
Flexibility to work longer days or weekends as needed
Perform other assignments as directed by Management
Basic Qualifications
A&P Certification and 5+ years of prior relevant experience
Inspection Authorization (IA)
Excellent communication skills
Experience in leading maintenance teams
Excellent written skills
Experience with Airborne ISR platforms
Excellent organizational skills
Experience with Microsoft products
Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
Experience with King Air and Challenger aircraft
