Leidos is recruiting a Medical Delivery Manager to become the single point of focus in support of the Defence Medical Services (DMS) Customer across all medical commodities, services and new requirements.

Being a Medical Logistics, Project Management and Commercially suitably qualified and experienced person (SQEP), this role will take over the day to day medical interactions at SO1/L4 level, including co-chair of the Medical Working Group once stabilised and operate as the primary point of contact DMS.

The Medical Delivery Manager provides a single point of contact for Medical Customers from Concept development through to Delivery and lessons learned and ensures requirements are delivered to Time, Cost and Quality. The role works closely with the Leidos Programme Management Office (PMO) and Customer Ops Cell (CoC) nested within the Operations vertical of Leidos’ LCST.

The Logistics Commodities & Services Transformation (LCST) Programme for the UK Ministry of Defence is a critical effort to enhance and improve the UK’s defence supply chain. The programme provides essential services such as storage and distribution for the MOD's materiel, including a global freight service and the procurement and inventory management of 70,000 commodity NATO Stock Number (NSNs).

What You’ll Be Doing:

As the largest provider of IT services to the U.S. Government, Leidos develops and sustains large data and technology infrastructures and integrates complex IT systems for almost every branch of the U.S. Government.  Leidos currently has a number of positions supporting the United Kingdom MOD logistics programme.

Minimum Qualification/Education Level:

  • Minimum: A-Levels (grades A-C)

  • Desirable: Degree in relevant discipline

  • Essential: Minimum 5 years Business/Programme Management experience

  • Essential: Experience working in a medical procurement business in either Supply Chain, Commercial or Technical functions.

  • Essential: Full understanding of the LCST Business Operational Model (SCD/Financial/Regulatory)

  • Desirable: Advanced knowledge of MoD legacy procurement processes

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Emerging DMS complex requirements. This role will actively support the Concept Phase for DMS driven changes and projects.

  • Support to DMS where input is required to contract re-let. This role will support DMS in articulate its requirements, change in requirements and timely delivery of these in order to inform commercial liability arrangements for re-let in addition to ensuring that these re-lets occur as planned.

  • Single point of contact for Authority Medical Assurance, specifically the relationship owner of the SO1 Medical Assurance role within the Customer. Oversight of medical performance data and interventions as that data indicates as required.

  • Day to day management of Medical LCST Delivery Group (MLDG) actions and ensuring coherence of the Team Leidos support to that forum. Role will act as the secretariat of the MLDG and, supporting the SO1 Medical Assurance, ensure that integration across DP, Customer and DMS occurs. This role is the DP MLDG Programme Manager and will coordinate delivery across the current priorities in that delivery plan. The absence of this role will severely constrain the DPs enduring capacity to drive those activities.

  • Management and oversight of DMS driven changes in delivery. Ensuring that post-commissioning delivery of change remains on track to deliver to contract and end user expectation.

  • Issue Resolution. Focussing on high profile or high impact issues that require immediate resolution and mitigations.

Key Result Areas:

  • Greater clarity on how to engage LCST medical delivery, to provide clear requirements and receive the desired effect and greater assurance of LCST’s ability to respond to emergent needs.

  • Greatly reduced Customer “swivel chairing” of issues, commissioning RFIs and increased appropriate engagement with medical delivery capability with CSS and SD&F.

  • Providing the Customer confidence of accountability through the creation of complimentary Roles and Responsibilities between Customer, DMS and TL, increasing assurance efficiency and reducing duplication of effort.

  • Maintaining a single medical programmatic picture, encompassing BAU delivery oversight (OTD/FSA), Readiness, commissioning (including Sch 25 change), re-lets and MERP. Including clear sight of Programme milestones and dependencies
