    Job Description:

    The Director of Non-Medical Counseling oversees all non-medical counseling, financial counseling, and health and wellness coaching programs. Serves as a member of the MOS leadership project management team ensuring service delivery and contract deliverable execution. Serves in a key role planning, managing, executing and reporting on the overall activities of large scale, multi-functional clinical initiatives across the business. This includes new implementations, program development, system migration, operations improvement, and quality improvement activities. Works together with plan leadership, clinical and account management teams to meet or exceed the client expectations and contribute to building long-lasting relationships. Has responsibility to provide project and quality management planning, execution and reporting.

    The MOS program provides for 5.2 million military members and their families at locations worldwide services similar to a commercial Employee Assistance Program (EAP) with a broad array of information and referrals as well as counseling services including adoption information, child care, exceptional family member programs, deployment support, disability information, elder care, educational services for adults, children and youth, spouse education and career information, relocation services, pet care, non-medical counseling, financial counseling, tax assistance, health and wellness coaching, housing assistance, legal service referrals, single service member services, lodging, military benefits, relationship support, parenting, spouse relocation and transition, peer-to-peer support, and everyday issues (e.g., locating a plumber, car repair).  These services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week (24/7), through the Internet, by telephone (via 800 number and collect calls), electronic mail (e-mail), postal mail, video counseling, and face-to-face counseling. The Director of Non-Medical Counseling plans, manages, executes, and reports on the overall activities of large scale, multi-functional clinical initiatives in the MOS program, including new implementations, program development, system migration, operations improvement, and quality improvement activities.

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Manages on time, on budget delivery of projects and services to clients Coordinates inter-functional and inter-departmental project resources as needed to ensure project delivery in accordance with client expectations and success factors

    • Conducts verification and needs assessment of project deliverables Meets with leadership and appropriate personnel to identify the project’s goals, objectives, critical success factors, and success measures

    • Maintains daily contact with clients, internal departments and external vendors, as needed to support project deliverables and exceeding client expectations

    • Develops an appropriately detailed project plan and timeline

    • Provides long-term, business critical project management expertise as needed

    • Develops and enhances services as a key profitability resource within the company through the direction and supervision of other resources and continued recruiting of talent

    • Works together with plan leadership, clinical and account management teams to meet or exceed the client expectations and contribute to building long-lasting relationships

    • Provides project and quality management planning, execution, and reporting

    • All other duties as assigned

    Basic Qualifications

    • A Master’s degree from an accredited graduate program in a mental health, public health or related field such as social work, psychology, marriage/family therapy, or counseling, and possession of a current license at the independent practice level

    • A minimum of five years of management or supervisory experience in a similar program

    • RN, LCSW Certification

    • At least 7 years of clinical healthcare experience required, preferably with a health plan or Behavioral Health Managed Care Organization (BH-MCO)

    • Must be an U.S. citizen

    • Must speak fluent English

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Former Military/Veteran, Military Spouse, or Wounded Warrior Program
