Description
The Enterprise & Cyber Solutions Operation is hiring a Network Cabling Installer to support the National Air and Space Intelligence Center at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. An active TS/SCI is required; all work is onsite.
Primary Responsibilities
Install, label, test, and maintain premises network cabling throughout NASIC enterprise to include outlying buildings in accordance with NASIC guidance
Maintain an inventory of on-hand quantities of fiber optic cables, fiber optic jumpers, CAT6 cables, CAT6 jumpers and connectors.
Remove unused and/or abandoned network cabling and equipment
Maintain architectural diagrams and document all installations/changes in accordance with NASIC guidance
Install, route, and dress fiber segments
Install and test premise fiber infrastructure cabling and connectors
Document all work using the NASIC generated Incident and Service Requests system (i.e. Microsoft System Center Service Manager or ServiceNow)
Install racks and IT equipment in the data centers following all applicable standards
Ensure IT equipment is connected to specific security levels, documented, and labeled as prescribed to the NASIC Network Installation Standards
Troubleshoot network issues pertaining to the cabling infrastructure
Identify and repair fiber and CAT5/6 cabling issues/breaks to include the supporting cabling hardware
Relocate IT for NASIC customers from old locations to new locations
Install/remove desktop computers and peripheral equipment
Provide input to Daily Logs, Weekly Reports, and Monthly Reports on all network tasks performed, man hours used and parts usage
Basic Qualifications
Active TS/SCI clearance
Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II (e.g., Security+) certification
Requires a High School diploma or equivalent and 1 – 3 years of prior relevant experience.
Experience installing and testing premise CAT5/CAT6 or fiber infrastructure cabling and connectors
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with trouble ticket tracking systems such as Microsoft Service Manger or ServiceNow
Possess industry recognized fiber-optic certification to include Fiber Optic Association (FOA) Certified Premises Cabling Technician (CPCT) certification (preferred), FOA Certified Fiber Optic Technician (CFOT), Electronic Technicians Association (ETA) Fiber Optics Designer (FOD), ETA Fiber Optics Installer (FOI), ETA Fiber Optics Technician (FOT), or Building Industry Consulting Service International (BICSI) Installer2, Fiber-Optic.

Pay Range $37,050.00 - $57,000.00 - $76,950.00
