    Job Description:

    Leidos Engineering has an opportunity for an experienced Electric Utility Project Manager who will work alongside planners, engineers, and operators to support various Power Delivery Solutions projects in Hawaii.

    We are currently seeking qualified applicants to provide Project Management Services for transmission, distribution and telecommunication line, substation, and renewable interconnection projects for our clients in Hawaii. The Project Manager will be part of an established Project Management Office that provides consulting services to public-owned and investor-owned electric utilities. These consulting services provide our clients with full project lifecycle project management services covering planning, engineering design, material and equipment procurement, construction, and commissioning of electric utility infrastructure.   

    Project Manager - Electric Utilities Responsibilities: 

    • Manages various sized electric utility projects under conventional design-bid-build and engineer-procure-construct contracting approaches
    • Plans, organizes, and manages all project tasks associated with design, procurement, construction, testing, placement in operation and closing of projects
    • Develops necessary strategies required to meet project goals
    • Responsible for overall project performance, including the management of the scope, schedule, budget, and risk 
    • Maintains project schedules and project costs and provides updates for any status reports, dashboards or other variance explanations
    • Utilizes project and financial controls to produce weekly/monthly reports as required by client and internal management
    • Develops contingency and recovery plans, as needed to meet critical project milestones and target plant-add dates
    • Interfaces and communicates with project teams across multiple departments and disciplines, functional leaders, support personnel, as well as third parties, such as developers, suppliers, contractors, etc.
    • Facilitates design reviews
    • Facilitates regular and ad-hoc project meetings, including preparation of meeting agendas and notes
    • Manages the preparation of or writes requests for proposals and supporting bid documents; jurisdictional permit and approval applications; and comprehensive and technical project reports 
    • Prepares monthly client invoicing, with status reports, and monitors accounts receivable
    • Assists the Account Manager identify, position, pursue and propose on new client project management opportunities
    • Services may also include:
      • Obtaining client project approvals, which may include presenting to their executive management team
      • Procuring services for engineering and construction of the project
      • Ensuring necessary permits, land rights, and project approvals are obtained
      • Managing community relations activities
      • Managing procurement of long lead materials and equipment
      • Providing oversight of developer/contractor installations for compliance with contract documents and approved designs, including management of inspectors
      • Coordinating startup, testing, and commissioning of facilities

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in the following disciplines: Engineering, Construction Management, Business or Finance required with a minimum of eight (8) + years of relevant Project Management experience
    • Must demonstrate recent and in-depth expertise in electric power infrastructure projects, covering the full lifecycle of project development
    • Must have demonstrated knowledge of engineering, procurement and construction contract terms and conditions
    • Must have demonstrated success with a team approach to the consulting business 
    • Ability to develop strong, professional relationships with clients, internal staff and third parties
    • Strong writing and verbal communication skills 
    • Familiarity with electric power industry and knowledge of business issues associated with power delivery services
    • Periodic travel is required (~10%)

    Pay Range:

    Pay Range $84,500.00 - $130,000.00 - $175,500.00

    The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
