    Job Description:

    DLBA Naval Architects, a division of Gibbs & Cox, Inc., a Leidos Company, is the nation’s leading independent naval architecture, marine engineering, and design firms. DLBA is looking for a Technical/Program Manager to join our team in Chesapeake, VA.  We are looking for a qualified individual with design and/or shipyard experience to join our team to lead some of our challenging, fast-paced projects.  Our team has several upcoming detail design opportunities for complex high speed craft and we need someone to come in and help us navigate through these detailed design projects. 

    Location: highly prefer candidate to sit in our Chesapeake VA office, will consider fully remote candidates.

    Primary Responsibilities

    The ideal candidate is an experienced Naval Architect or Marine Engineer with extensive design experience and in-depth knowledge of the design process.  The candidate will be able to provide technical knowledge to interdisciplinary teams supporting complex design projects from the concept design phase through to detailed design for production.  With minimal supervision, develop technical specifications, analysis reports, calculations, and develop designs to meet Specifications and regulatory body requirements (ABS/RINA/LR/ISO/USCG). Research documentation and reports, and summarize findings. Develop status reports, technical reports, documentation, and high level briefings.  Perform quality assurance reviews of products such as analyses, calculations and drawings.  The candidate will be able to develop proposals, specifications, and cost estimates for G&G projects in response to requests received from clients.  The candidate will be required to interface with the client and the design to control scope, budgets, and schedules.

    Basic Qualifications

    ·         Candidate must be a US Citizen and able obtain a US Government Security Cclearance

    ·         BS degree or higher in engineering or related field

    ·         10+ years of related experience

    ·         Small/High Speed Craft/Boat design experience highly preferred

    ·         Will consider candidates who have design experience on larger maritime vessels/ships

    ·         Ability to work independently or as a team member

    ·         Excellent MS Office skills, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Project

    ·         Proficiency in using industry-standard CAD software, including AutoCAD and Rhino

    ·         Strong analytical skills, communication, and interpersonal skills

    Preferred Qualifications

    ·         Professional Engineer’s License

    ·         Project Management Professional certification

    Pay Range:

    Pay Range $84,500.00 - $130,000.00 - $175,500.00

    The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
