Perform detailed inspection of spaceflight hardware and ground support hardware/software; support qualification testing.
Participate in internal drawing reviews and design reviews. Support Test Readiness Reviews and pre-delivery/pre-installation acceptance testing of spaceflight hardware and ground support hardware/software.
Provide quality assurance support at remote locations (vendors, suppliers, testing facilities) for product requirements verification and compliance.
Provide informal quality assurance support for the development of prototype, engineering, and development units.
Conduct periodic inspections of all flight fabrication areas. Verify that conditions comply with all applicable requirements.
Collaborate with internal customers to resolve issues documented in the QA Discrepancy Reporting System.
Work with with NASA/DCMA contract surveillance representatives to coordinate verification of Government Mandatory Inspection Points (GMIP).
Identify and implement process improvements. Work with QA management and Quality Management System personnel to update existing work instructions.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of applicable industry standards, guidelines, technology trends and project management methods.
Build and maintain trusted relationships with customers and stakeholders. Proactively identify and resolve issues. Ensure resolution of project, customer and personnel issues in consultation with the HHPC Program Management Office (PMO) and the HHPC Operations Manager.
Provide periodic written status reports of Quality Assurance Inspection work activities to the HHPC Quality Assurance Manager.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma and 4+ years of quality assurance experience (e.g. laboratory, logistics, engineering, manufacturing operations)
Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills
Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills
Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively across multiple teams and disciplines
Willingness to learn new skills, tools, and technologies
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite of tools.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience supporting NASA Programs
Current inspection certifications (e.g. IPC J-STD-001 with Space Addendum Requirement for Soldered Electrical and Electronic Assemblies; NASA-STD-8739.4 Workmanship Standard for Crimping, Interconnecting Cables, Harnesses and Wiring; NASA-STD-8739.1 for Polymeric Application on Electronic Assemblies; NASA/RITF certification in Electrostatic Discharge Level 2)
Experience with dimensional inspection of fabricated hardware utilizing manual mechanical inspection techniques and measuring machine (CMM) inspection techniques.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $48,100.00 - $86,950.00
