Description
The Defense Health Operation of Leidos is seeking a Research Project Manager to support the Naval Submarine Medical Research Laboratory (NSMRL) in Groton, CT. A successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers whose mission is to deliver research solutions that promote the health, welfare, and performance of undersea warfighters.
NSMRL conducts research and investigates the effects of medical, psychological, and performance issues associated with the health and performance of naval personnel in operational and non-operational settings.
Primary Responsibilities
Assist with underwater physiology research.
Responsible for supporting the principal scientist(s) in the areas of undersea physiology and performance enhancement.
Execute research protocols in support of research objectives, including physiological monitoring and administering psychophysical tasks.
Analyze data, in collaboration with principal investigators, towards project objectives and then incorporate these analyses in reports and presentations.
Write technical reports.
Interact with outside customers and researchers; brief technically detailed project results to sponsors. Be responsible for supporting subcontracted projects through execution.
Test, evaluate, troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and calibrate equipment.
Document all work in laboratory notebooks, technical reports, posters, and documentation binders.
Basic Qualifications
MA/MS in physiology or related field
0 - 2 years of relevant professional / work experience
The candidate will be required to acquire, at a minimum, a SECRET classification access level. Preference will be given to a candidate who already has this clearance level.
Must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with human subject’s research will be given strong preference.
Experience in a human subject research setting; handling biological specimens and processing biological samples
Experience writing scientific articles and technical reports
Experience in the US federal government system.
Pay Range $63,050.00 - $97,000.00 - $130,950.00
The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
