    Position summary

    r Civil Engineer to join the National Airspace System Integration Support Contract (NISC IV) Team. This position will support the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Terminal Engineering Center in Des Moines, WA.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    The Civil Engineer will support the FAA Seattle Terminal / Surveillance / Weather Engineering Center (AJW-2W11A) with project management and project planning for the transition, integration, and implementation of various Air Traffic Control Tower (ATCT) and Terminal Radar Approach Control Facilities (TRACON) projects.

    Routine tasks may include:

    • Act as the Project Implementer for Engineering Services Terminal engineering projects.

    • Coordinate reoccurring project coordination meetings among all necessary stakeholders (i.e. Air Traffic, Technical Operations, Engineering Services, Service Center, and non-FAA organizations);

    • Assist in development and formulation of project schedules and monitor and track Corporate Work Plan (CWP) project schedule(s), and assist in CWP schedules being achieved as intended and on time.

    • Participate in project planning, construction meetings, and site surveys to verify that project plans and installations meet requirements;

    • Assist in development and review of project design/construction scope agreements and recommend changes for improvement.

    • Coordinate reviews of facility design(s), installation schedule(s), site visits, implementation schedules, and other related project communications with all project stakeholders (i.e. Air Traffic, Technical Operations, Engineering Services, Service Center, and non-FAA organizations);

    • Perform analysis and application of Safety Risk Management processes, and obtain recommendations and proposals of actions and/or improvements, to correct and/or mitigate potential risks resulting from site, facility, project/program changes; and

    • Analyze and review project resource requirements and recommend changes as needed.

    Please Note: Must be able to work onsite, Des Moines, WA.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Civil Engineering degree and 8+ years of prior relevant experience OR Master's with 6+ years of prior relevant experience.

    • Knowledge of and experience with NAS facilities, systems and terminology.

    • Possess strong engineering project management and execution background and experience with site transition, risk mitigation, and documentation.

    • Possess excellent communication and presentation skills, the capacity to multi-task, strong organizational skills, and proficiency with MS Office applications (e.g. Word, PowerPoint, etc.).

    • Ability to obtain a Public Trust Security Clearance Suitability (To be eligible for Public Trust Security Clearance, one must be either a U.S. Citizen OR a U.S. Permanent Resident/Green Card holder who has resided in the U.S.A for the past 3 years of the past 5 years consecutively with no breaks).

    Pay Range:
    Pay Range $89,700.00 - $162,150.00
