• Support the Linux environment for the database team.

• Development of user documentation and guidelines.

• Development of presentation material.

• Investigate, collaborate, and resolve production jobs and job failures.

• Support weekend maintenance activities to apply changes during non-peak hours.

• Provide input to continuous improvement of Linux Administration and Support

FOUNDATION FOR SUCCESS (Basic Qualifications)

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or related field and 10+ years of relevant experience

• Masters or Doctorate degree may substitute for required experience

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust. Contract requirement.

• 7 Years of work experience with Linux Administration

******* Selected candidate must reside within two (2) hours of SSA Headquarters in Woodlawn, MD OR be willing to relocate prior to first day of employment

FACTORS TO HELP YOU SHINE (Required Skills)

These skills will help you succeed in this position:

• Excellent communication and written skills.

• Proficiency in Linux Patching/upgrading

• Proficiency with Linux commands and  shell scripting

• Proficiency with Linux troubleshooting

• Proficiency with Ansible and Ansible Tower

• Proficiency in High Availability and Disaster Recovery

• Proficiency in Linux Performance Tuning

HOW TO STAND OUT FROM THE CROWD (Desired Skills)

Showcase your knowledge of Linux System Administration through the following experience or skills:

• Solid working knowledge of AWS

• Experience supporting databases running on Linux.

• Experience with working with Federal Government clients.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $105,https://300.00 - $190,https://350.00
