Are you ready for your next career challenge?
As a senior developer within our Scottish Government team you will be act as the main technical point of contact for one or more solutions, in which capacity you will be responsible for leading the delivery of a future work pipeline and resolution of complex support tasks requiring deep subject matter expertise, and ensuring technical assurance standards are maintained during the completion of engineering tasks. Software developer with a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience required
In doing so you will be expected to lead other engineers as well as taking a direct hands on approach to delivery when appropriate. Leadership responsibilities include:
Providing subject matter expertise to application support analysts during the resolution of complex support issues
Ensuring requirement and design documentation is maintained to a high standard and on a timely basis
Specifying tasks, establishing estimates and tracking progress during their completion
Raising and managing technical escalations reported by the team, and clearing blockers
Ensuring changes are fully tested and correct, and that mandated assurance activities such as code reviews take place
Managing the successful deployment of changes to the customer’s hosting environment, and completing knowledge transfer activities when required
Candidates will have experience of the following:
C#
ASP.NET
Javascript / React
Windows Communication Foundation (WCF)
SQL Server & NHibernate
Automated Unit Testing, Rhino Mocks and NUnit
Team Foundation Server (TFS)
Git
Agile Software Development
Experience of the following would also be beneficial:
Service Oriented Architectures.
Clearance requirement is BPSS.
Candidates should be based in Central Scotland and will have the option of working from our Skypark office in Glasgow on a full or part time basis, or full time home working. Candidates will occasionally be expected to attend meetings in our customer’s offices in Edinburgh and other locations throughout Scotland.
