    Position summary

    Description

    Job Description:

    Leidos is seeking a Software Development Engineer who will be a member of a dynamic team providing support to users leveraging the Atlassian Tools suite to develop future air traffic control software such as the Federal Aviation Administration's En-Route Automation Modernization (ERAM) technology.  ERAM is the heart of the Next Generation Air Transportation System and the pulse of the National Airspace System helping to advance our transition from a ground-based system of air traffic control to a satellite-based system of air traffic management. 

    Responsibilities:

    • Quickly troubleshoot and correct problems with Atlassian applications (e.g. Jira, Bitbucket, Bamboo, Confluence, Fish Eye, Crucible) and webserver (Apache) running in a production environment to ensure high availability.
    • Troubleshoot operating system and network issues to maintain high system availability.
    • Plug-in debugging and development 
    • Guide others in installation, upgrade, and customization efforts.
    • Maintenance of a VM lab for development team use.
    • Installation and configuration of Atlassian Tools across multiple programs
    • Installation and configuration of Atlassian Plug-ins
    • Atlassian customization via native Atlassian application capabilities, ScriptRunner scripting, and custom plug-in development as necessary

    Qualifications:

    • Requires Bachelors of Science degree and minimum of 8+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6+ years of prior relevant experience. 
    • Multiple years of Linux user experience. 
    • Possess a firm grasp of how to install, configure, trouble shoot, and develop for Jira, Bitbucket, Fisheye, Crucible, Bamboo, and Confluence hosted in a Linux environment.
      Atlassian installation, administration, configuration, and troubleshooting on Linux covering Jira, Fisheye, Crucible, Bitbucket, Confluence, Bamboo, and plug-ins.
    • Ability to develop custom plug-ins.
    • Linux administration including:
      • Command line skills
      • OS installation and configuration
      • Setup for Atlassian server/data center installation
      • OS Troubleshooting
      • Virtual Machine setup and configuration
        • VMware
        • RedHat KVM
    • Bash/sh scripting
    • Network administration skills including:
      • Linux firewalls/routing
      • DNS
      • Security
      • Troubleshooting
    • Databases (PostGreSql, MySql) on Linux
      • Installation/configuration
      • SQL language
      • Database and role administration
      • Backup/restore and replication on other systems
    • Testing
      • Rapidly setup production clones in VMs for testing 
        • Upgrade testing
        • Custom project design testing
    • Overall troubleshooting skills
      • Identifying where the problems lie
        • networking, hardware, OS, tools, or User Error
    • Ability to read the Linux and Atlassian logs to decipher the problem.
    • Isolate a network issue from the command line with tools like ping, telnet, nslookup, netstat.

    • Elastic Ips
      • IAM (user accounts)
      • Cloudwatch (monitoring/troubleshooting/alarms/alerts)
    • Experience installing, upgrading, trouble shooting, using, and automating Dimensions.   
    • FAA Domain knowledge: Previous experience with one or more of the following programs: ERAM, TBFM, TFDM, ATOP, EIDS, MEARTS, AFSS
      TSFAA 

    Pay Range:

    Pay Range $97,500.00 - $150,000.00 - $202,500.00

    The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
