Leidos is seeking a NASA IT - Supply Chain Engineer Intern in Reston, VA or Huntsville, AL.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are excited to announce an opening for a Supply Chain Engineer Intern on our Procurement Strategy team supporting NASA IT Programs (Reston, VA or Huntsville, AL)! This is an exciting opportunity to learn and gain experience with Supply Chain Strategy and Operations (S&O) within Leidos. Intern will be responsible for supporting proposal/program purchase requirements from engineering perspective for NASA NEST and AEGIS programs. Individual will be interfacing with Engineering team, Vendors, Logistics, Receiving, and the broader Procurement & Enterprise Partnerships team to ensure recommendations of suppliers and products effective to the customer mission, as well as working on special projects as assigned. Internship will include rotations for exposure to Material Planner and Material Project Manager requirements providing a holistic experience supporting programs with the S&O organization.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Responsible for timely and accurate material pricing on proposal and program efforts.
•Works with Program team to ensure a streamlined procurement process of materials against program requirements.
•Candidate must have the ability to work with team to generate material requirements and providing the necessary support of acquisition plans from start to finish.
•Maintains reports and monitors material movement throughout manufacturing and inventory sequences.
•Coordinates forecasts, workload, expediting, and acquisition priority with commodity/category team leadership.
•Candidate will conduct data analytics and analyze large data sets to price Bill of Materials (BOM).
•Engages supply chain (vendor to manufacturing) to determine optimal acquisition strategy.
•There will also be opportunities to work special projects with multi-functional teams. The most successful candidate will have a desire to be a part of a team, enjoy hard work and learning on the job from a team of other talented professionals.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
•Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain/Logistics, Business Admin, Finance, or related field.
•Excellent computer skills (excel/pivot tables and PowerPoint).
•Effective verbal and written communications skills.
•The ability to work under tough time constraints and prioritize multiple tasks
•Local travel to NASA facilities required for program system access.
•U.S. Citizenship is required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
•3.0 GPA.
•Candidates local to the area.
Pay Range $36,400.00 - $56,000.00 - $75,600.00
