Description
Leidos is seeking a System Administrator who will be a member of the Lab Support team working on the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA's) Enterprise Information Display System (EIDS) technology.
The Enterprise Information Display System (EIDS) will provide an enterprise-level platform that implements, augments and/or replaces multiple types of IDSs in, or in support of the NAS, including but not limited to En Route, Terminal, Traffic Flow and Offshore domains with common hardware and software. Information displayed on IDSs consists of dynamic information such as weather observations from airport surface weather sensors, airport information such as runway status and visibility, and static information such as airport diagrams, approach charts, and facility directives. Other information such as frequency outages and ongoing traffic flow management initiatives are captured on these systems via manual entry.
EIDS will replace five IDSs currently in use at just over 450 ATC facilities with approximately 5,000 IDS-equipped operating positions. There are additional locations where IDS equipment is installed for remote communications, which will also be replaced. The future number of sites may expand to ~600 with ~7000 operating positions.
Primary Responsibilities
Lab Support Engineering/Integration consists of on-site support to all FAA and Leidos test groups using the WJHTC labs. Responsible for the lab administration support which includes activities such as creating new user/group IDs and providing system functions such as disk management, cross mounts, add/change files systems, backup/restore coordination, network management and release management. Includes assisting with problem debugging, investigating hardware and software problems, implementing corrective action, answering user questions, providing effective lab operations, and assistance to the lab user. Responsible for the installation and customization of the operating system images, which includes the necessary CAS software and applications software for the various process platforms in the lab. Lab user support as required that includes assisting users in the lab on a day-to-day basis
Basic Qualifications
Understanding of administration and configuration of Linux variants and the ability to troubleshoot as needed
Basic hardware knowledge and ability to troubleshoot/repair issues (Adapter swaps, adding memory, etc.)
Understanding of administration and configuration of Networking devices and the ability to troubleshoot as needed
Knowledge of Scripting languages, the ability to create and debug basic scripts
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in related engineering discipline, or equivalent experience and less than 2 years prior relevant experience.

US Citizenship Requirements
Candidate must be able to obtain an SF-85P Public Trust clearance from the FAA customer.
Pay Range $46,800.00 - $72,000.00 - $97,200.00
