    Leidos is currently seeking a Systems Administrator II to support the NASA shared Service Center. The Systems Administrator II role provides support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) systems. Tasks include management of IT system, infrastructure, and any processes related to these systems. The SA II will:

    Provide support to IT systems including day-to-day operations and monitoring and problem resolution for all client/server/storage/network devices. Provide support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers. Configure and manage Virtual Environments, Linux and Windows operating systems and installs/loads operating system software, troubleshoots, maintains integrity and configures network components along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for managing and maintaining hardware, operating system, and virtual machines in a local area network (LAN) environment.

    • Install, configure, and maintain servers, storage systems, and network devices ensuring high availability and optimal performance.

    • Responsible for Tier I/II troubleshooting of hardware, operating system and application incidents by researching, documenting, resolving and/or escalating incidents to external vendor support.

    • Create technical drawings using Visio to include network, Virtual Infrastructure, and Application dependencies.

    • Monitor system backups to ensure successful operations, perform file or system restores as required.

    • Deploy security configurations to ensure compliance to NASA cybersecurity policies and best practice policies.

    • Support application developers with updates and configurations in Development and Test environments.

    Basic Qualifications:

    • U.S. Citizen with ability to earn a Secret Clearance.

    • Associate degree in an IT-related field or four (4) years of relevant experience in an IT enterprise environment.

    • Proficient with managing Windows, Linux, and other server operating systems and server applications, such as Internet Information Services and/or Apache.

    • Must be able to lift minimum of 40 lbs.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • B.S. in computer-related field preferred or equivelent experience

    • Four (4) years of IT experience

    • Ideal candidate would live (or be willing to relocate to) within 50 miles of NASA center

    • Hands-on experience with Virtual Infrastructure and storage systems.

    Pay range - $25.00/hr. - $29.00/hr.

    Pay Range:
    Pay Range $39,650.00 - $71,675.00
