    The Defense Group at Leidos currently has an opening a Systems Engineer. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience helping the Defense product line mission. In this mission, we support the Modernization Effort of the Reagan Test Site Operations Headquarters located in Huntsville, AL.

    Responsibilities – Work you’ll do:

    • Develop and maintain Engineering s documentation such as concept of operations requirements, design, interface control documents, and operations manuals.
    • Conduct trade studies as required.
    • Understand and develop model-based systems engineer (MBSE) artifacts through the product lifecycle.
    • Create project plans to track and status development activities using the Microsoft Project tool suite
    • Oversee the setting up, configuration, and maintenance of systems such as desktops, servers, virtual environments and multimedia systems such as voice, and video.
    • Review Engineering drawings for compliance with approved requirements. Interpret electrical schematics and cable wiring diagrams.
    • Work with the Test Manager to develop project test plans and test procedures, provide test-planning support, and assist in the execution of both lab testing and field-testing.
    • Investigate and determine root cause of product issues during testing and determine appropriate resolution.
    • Interact with outside customers, suppliers, and functional peer groups.
    • Prepare and present design review materials for customers and internal stakeholders.
    • Occasional travel and work at remote sites for limited time periods will be required.

    Required Experience, Skills, and Education:

    • Skills commensurate with primary responsibilities described above.
    • BS degree and 4+ years of prior relevant experience.
    • Familiarity with the Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DODAF)
    • Experience with Cloud Architecture and Operations based on VMware products.
    • Understanding of Voice and Video technologies.
    • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
    • Ability to plan, prioritize and organize work without close supervision.
    • Strong, effective, and professional communication (written/verbal) and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to take initiative in troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues; creative in determining approach or action to take in non-routine situations.

    Preferred Experience, Skills, and Education – Favorable if you have:

    • Prior experience Supporting DoD Customers.

    Clearance Required:

    • Possess an active DoD Secret security clearance.

    Pay Range:

    Pay Range $78,000.00 - $120,000.00 - $162,000.00

    The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
