More About the Role:
Leidos is seeking a Transport Network Specialist to support related efforts for SMIT, the largest IT services program for the Navy. Under the Service Management, Integration, and Transport (SMIT), Leidos team will deliver the core backbone of the Navy-Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI), including cybersecurity services, network operations, service desk, and data transport. Ultimately, the Leidos team will support the Navy in unifying its shore-based networks and data management to improve capability and service while also saving significant dollars by focusing efforts under one enterprise network. The successful candidate will support network engineering for voice, video, and data communications (such as BAN/LAN/WLAN/WAN, cross domain solutions, communications security, and piers connectivity) in the NMCI network.
What You'll Get to Do:
The Transport Network Specialist will proactively contribute to the analysis, design, planning and ongoing support to NMCI transport areas.
Other duties include:
Provide solution development and engineering work for networking/transport.
Participate in the planning of upgrades, replacement, configuration, and maintenance of networking/transport projects.
Assist in providing engineering solutions that provide secure, effective and efficient operation of systems, architecture, and topology for transport.
Participate in new and existing IT modernization, expansion, and improvement projects related to transport for the NMCI network.
Collaborate with technical experts to synthesize solutions related to transport.
Participate in the analysis, review, and validation with customers, stakeholders, and team members for NMCI projects and changes related to transport.
Comply with ITSM processes and procedures, Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) governance, and Cybersecurity requirements within the DoDI 8500.01 and DON 5239.
Support development and maintenance of engineering processes, checklists, and procedures for transport.
Shift 3: Thursday – Saturday with every other Wednesday 0600 – 1800 HST
You'll Bring These Qualifications:
Requires B.S. Degree and 2-4 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with less than 2 years of prior relevant experience (in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university).
Two (2) or more years’ experience on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
Must be a U.S. Citizen and possess an active Secret clearance to start the program.
Technical knowledge and skills in one or more of the following areas: BAN/LAN/WLAN/WAN, cross domain solutions, communications security, and piers connectivity networks, designing/architecting
Experience working in large information technology enterprise environments
Hands-on experience in working with DoD networks.
Travel may be required.
Security+ or other applicable certification to meet DoD 8570 requirements.
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
Experience working on DoD programs, specifically Navy programs
Certifications:
CCNA/CCNP
INCOSE CSEP
ITIL
CISSP
Pay Range $54,600.00 - $84,000.00 - $113,400.00
