The Leidos Defense Group has a career opportunity for a Voice Data Engineer at The Pentagon, National Capital Region.
JOB SUMMARY: Voice Data Engineer in support of the AFNCR IT Services program. The AFNCR IT Services program provides support services for information systems for Headquarters Air Force (HAF), Air Force District of Washington (AFDW), Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), Joint Chiefs of Staff, and other Air Force activities within the AFNCR missions to include the Pentagon, Joint Base Andrews (JBA), Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling (JBAB), and other locations, leased spaces, and alternate sites. The major support areas are: IT Operations and Maintenance; Plans, Projects, and Engineering (PP&E). The senior leaders and national defense missions that are supported require that the AFNCR operations never fail, resulting in a fast-paced, challenging, but also rewarding environment. The successful candidate will support engineering and maintenance of NMCC Telecommunication systems. Systems include Defense Red Switch Network, Multimedia, and C4 Computer Systems and Tech Control. The Position requires deep understanding of and ability to apply principles, theories, and concepts of technical domain and has broad understanding of other related specialty areas.
Primary Responsibilities:
Troubleshoots and maintains Nuclear Command and Control Computer Systems.
Provides nuclear threat warning and Command and Control support to the NMCC and other Department of Defense components throughout the National Capital Region.
Coordinates maintenance and operational actions directly with the Joint Staff, DDO, CWO, and the Joint Staff Surveillance Officer.
Provides 24/7 maintenance for Processing Display Subsystem- Migration (PDS- M) for the DDO, Surveillance Officer, and all Secure Operation Teams. Conducts risk and vulnerability assessments of installed information systems to identify vulnerabilities, risks, and protection needs.
Performs maintenance of Ground Communication Network Modernization (GCNM), Command and Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC), Communications Processing System (CPS), and the components used to make these systems work including smart routers, keyboards, cabling, servers, and personal computers.
Maintains a comprehensive quality assurance program for diverse platforms that covers, file backup and recovery, equipment maintenance, and quality control of systems processing and outputs.
Support 100 Core, Crisis and Staff Customers in The Pentagon in support of the NMCC.
Daily interaction with Senior Officers and Senior GS Civilians to troubleshoot computer problems.
Address any immediate customer issues and elevates any problems to the C4 Maintenance lead to resolve any customer issues.
Perform hardware and software diagnostics.
Coordinate with the Communication Focal Point Manager any outages or issues with equipment other than the typical desktop issues.
Troubleshoot Microsoft Office 365.
IT Service Management through Remedy 22.0.
Professionally troubleshoot laptops and desktops.
Experience with Bomgar and Windows PowerShell.
Experience with Active Directory and NetIQ Directory and Resource Administrator.
Experience with Remote Desktop.
Comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
Technically strong and able to make quick, sound decisions.
Provide engineering support to installation and configuration projects.
Provide support for Cyber and Risk Management validation and controls.
Develop engineering solutions and remediate system security issues and concerns.
Conduct Desktop Support in the areas of Password Resets, Antivirus updates for Windows and Linux based machines.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of relevant experience or a Master’s degree and less than 2 years of relevant experience. Additional years of related experience, training, and/or certifications accepted in lieu of a degree.
Experience with the support of IT Communications equipment in a Window / Microsoft enterprise environment.
Experience with the following and or similar products, Remedy, Active Directory, Bomgar, Windows PowerShell and MS Office 365.
Currently possess Security+ce certification.
Currently possess a DoD TS/SCI security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
Pay Range $54,600.00 - $84,000.00 - $113,400.00
