About the Role
LexisNexis Intellectual Property is looking for a Director of Sales to lead our IPlytics Sales Organization. The Director of Sales will lead an international team of sales professionals focused on achieving double-digit sales growth to licensors and licensees of Standard Essential Patents. This individual will also be responsible for delivering exceptional customer and employee satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
• Assume leadership role in developing the sales plan for the business unit
• Lead the sales team in meeting or exceeding revenue targets and achieve world-class sales metrics
• Interface with executive staff and other LexisNexis and RELX businesses to identify synergies to partner and drive solution sales
• Spearhead the development, communication, and implementation of effective sale strategies and processes, including but not limited to strategic selling, value selling, messaging, customer success and salesforce efficiency
• Collaborate cross-functionally to develop and recommend long-term sales plans, strategies, and budgets by region
• Attract, recruit, and retain top talent and develop a high-performance sales team
• Provide leadership and management to ensure adoption and practice of the RELX core values
• Manage and measure performance of staff against expectations
• Engage and maintain relations with corporate and law firm customers and prospects to add value
• Constantly reviews the region for optimum structure and performance
• Liaise between product, sales and marketing organizations to optimize business outcomes
• Drive agile and continuous improvement activities and mindset across the commercial organization
• Ensure decisions are data driven
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; MBA preferred
• Minimum of 10 years' sales management experience, with 6+ years' experience in a related B2B environment (Information services, data, software, or the internet)
• Direct and transferable experience in selling complex solution offerings with a team selling approach; preferably in leading a sales organization through a digital transformation or something similar
• Proven ability to develop executive level customer relationships and leverage relationships for sales
• Solid understanding of new business and account management sales motions, pipeline management and solution selling
• Sound knowledge base of information industry and technology
• Solid strategic thinking and analytical capabilities
• Experience with budget management and resource allocation
• Strong overall business skills; strategic planning, competitive assessment, product development, and pricing are critical
• Deep understanding of strategic selling, value selling and CRM systems
• Proven ability to lead and manage by influence within a highly complex and matrixed organization
• Solid track record of success in leading growth by acquiring and retaining strategic customers
• Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, presentation and negotiation)
• Strong interpersonal skills combined with the ability to inspire, coach, and motivate
