About the Role:
Join our organisation and take on the pivotal role of Journals Lead, where your expertise will shape the integrity, utility, and currency of our editorial content across our diverse portfolio of products. As a Journals Lead, you will play a vital part in maintaining the day-to-day publication of product updates and overall management of our journals offerings.
You will work closely to coordinate other teams to ensure a high level of content quality using knowledge of editorial workflows and tools to ensure the overall currency of the products within your remit. The Journals Lead is also expected to keep an awareness of topical and emerging areas of law relevant to the Journals and act as an SME liaising with customers and customer facing teams to understand market needs and develop products as required.
This is a 10-month part-time role 3 days per week reporting to the Head of Analytical Content based in Chatswood, Sydney with a combined home/office-based arrangements offering flexible work-life balance. We are also open to other cities such as Melbourne or Brisbane for the right candidate for this role.
You’ll be responsible for:
Supporting the editorial team to ensure quality, currency, timeliness, and productivity.
Assisting with clearing roadblocks and improving editorial processes for Journals.
Delivering quality content to customers, adhering to the publication schedule for all formats for each product in the portfolio.
Managing the costs budget for external editors, authors and suppliers and making recommendations to realise cost savings where possible.
Working with General Editors, Headnoters and Authors to ensure on-time delivery of relevant quality content and following up on any quality issues.
Managing contracts for General Editors, Headnoters and Authors.
Liaising with customer-facing and in-market teams and acting as subject matter expert.
Producing annual product reviews and managing competitor comparisons.

To be successful in this role, you will have**:**
Degree qualification in field of Law, Business, Finance or similar.
Prior legal practice, legal industry, and/or publishing experience desirable.
Demonstrated first-hand experience performing legal research strongly preferred.
Sound working knowledge of periodical publishing workflows.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Strong stakeholder engagement skills.
Understanding and awareness of the legal industry and services market is desirable.
Ability to handle multi-projects with strong project management skills.
