Background

The Sales Administrator plays a critical role within Enterprise Solutions Sales & Marketing organization. They are the bridge between the front and back offices which, when working efficiently, allow for smooth transactions, provide an excellent customer experience (both internally and externally), while always ensuring revenue opportunities are maximized and selling time is optimized.

About the role

This role is responsible for providing operational and administrative support to the sales team. It will also be client orientated and responsible for the assembly of proposal and order documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Ownership, maintenance, and continual improvement of sales processes

  • Building professional partnerships with clients, sales team and project management team

  • Working with the Sales Leadership Team to encourage best practice behaviours within the sales team

  • Formulation of sales correspondence, to include, but not limited to proposals, tender responses, quotations, orders and contracts.

  • Managing the sales contracting process with the Sales Team, In House Legal Counsel and where appropriate directly with Customers

  • Responsible for the completion of Customer information requests through liaison with representatives throughout the RELX Group, including supplier questionnaires

  • Process new sales orders and ensure Product Library is maintained to reflect changes in the business

  • Responsible for managing and maintaining Sales Collateral via online repositories, which will include sales documentation, training manuals etc

  • Managing customer information including licencing, key contacts & data gathering/cleansing

  • Managing all customer queries efficiently and with the aim of optimising customer satisfaction

  • Managing sales leads, including opportunity qualification and information capturing

  • Preparing sales and marketing data for consumption in reporting purposes

  • Leading the approval process for bespoke software and professional services sales opportunities

  • Managing ad hoc contract related projects through liaison with the In House Legal Counsel to ensure compliance with new legislation, for example GDPR

  • Responsible for ordering Third Party Products

  • Purchase Order Processing

  • Client Licensing

  • Maintaining the marketing event diary

  • Monitor and maintain data quality within the marketing database in compliance with both legal and practice obligations.

Requirements

  • Understanding and knowledge of the sale process and client relationships
  • Experienced background in an office support role, with preferably exposure to a Sales Team and/or Finance Team
  • Strong programme management skills to work cross-functionally, and simultaneously handling multiple projects with internal and external resources
  • Experience of using: Microsoft Outlook, Inc. Calendar management, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Teams
  • Strong communication written and verbal
