The Cloud Platform team at Lucid is currently seeking a strong Principal Software Engineer. In this position, the individual will be involved in designing, developing, and maintaining a Cloud Platform that enabled Lucid Motors' Cloud-based Applications to run seamlessly on various public and private Cloud Infrastructure

We are looking for a hands-on Engineer, who will collaborate with internal stakeholders to work on the backend to build automation to provision Cloud Infrastructure including analytics services for data engineering

The Role

• Work on backend technologies such as Python, Go, Scala, Java to build APIs that will provision the cloud infrastructure and launch the services for the customers to consume
• Design and develop services from Cloud automation to frontend web app
• Build Spark container as a Service to run large-scale distributed systems that use Spark, Storm, or other analytics frameworks
• Deploy and maintain Services that will be globally launched - on both Public Cloud Infrastructure providers and on-prem setup - and manage the uptime and reliability
• Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to understand the technical problems and come up with framework level solutions
• Work with Product Owners and other team members from requirements gathering to developing a cloud platform that can launch services with a single click
• Participate in agile and scrum best practices and strive for continuous integration and delivery (CI-CD)

Qualifications

• B.S. or M.S. degree in Computer Science, Engineering
• 10 + years of experience in building backend applications using Java, Scala, Python, or Go 
• 5 + years of experience in building data analytics using Spark, Storm, or other frameworks 
• 5+ years of experience  building applications using Docker and K8s on AWS, Azure, or others
• Stronghold on the technical feasibility of building scalable container as a service to run Spark application
• Able to optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability
• Establishing reusable code, libraries, and patterns
• Familiarity with debugging tools and troubleshooting performance bottlenecks in Spark code
• Proficiency in RDBMS using Postgres and no-SQL such as Cassandra or MongoDB.
• Understanding of cloud-based development and deployment
• Detail-oriented with strong time management and organization skills, and dedication to quality
• Knowledgeable of REST-based APIs
• Supporting production operations and providing engineering-level insight on platform issues
