We are currently seeking a Senior Systems Engineer, Energy Management System. This position requires an experienced professional with a strong background in energy storage systems architecture, analysis, and requirement management. Our ideal candidate exhibits a can-do attitude and approaches his or her work with vigor and determination. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate excellence in their respective fields, to possess the ability to learn quickly and to strive for perfection within a fast-paced environment.

Job Duties:

• Work in a dynamic, cross-functional team to advance our cutting-edge battery control strategy
• Contribute to our world-acclaimed battery product for mass-market passenger vehicles and stationary energy storage systems
• In conjunction with battery scientists and algorithm engineers, develop performance requirements for miscellaneous energy management software
• Collaborate with battery software, controls, infotainment, and electrical engineers to define system functional and communication interfaces
• In conjunction with electrical, functional safety, and homologation engineers, derive and manage engineering activities for compliance to domestic and international markets
• Drive system analysis such as FMEA and FTA for fault-tolerant battery system

Necessary Experience and Skills:

• Expert knowledge of battery energy storage system control and electrical/electronic systems
• Experience as a systems/product engineer for complete life cycle of complex embedded products
• Familiarity with safety-critical embedded systems development workflow
• Experience with failure analysis methods such as FMEA and fault tree analysis
• Excellent organizational and program management skills
• Proficiency in C/C++, Python, or MATLAB/Simulink

Advantageous Experience and Skills:

• Good understanding of energy storage system standards and codes such as UL and IEEE standards
• Familiarity of energy management systems communication protocols like OSCP, OCPP
• Experience with model-based systems engineering tools
• Working knowledge of RTOS and Linux OS

Educational Requirements

• BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or other related fields, MS preferred

Salary Range: The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.

California (Bay Area) - $127,000 - $181,500
