The Plant Vehicle - Body Closures Engineer support all aspects of body closures manufacturing (including, doors, hood, trunk, mechanisms, hinges, latches, etc.) 

The Role:

• Collect, maintain and report out on a range of product assembly metrics.
• Troubleshoot all body closures issues with the manufacturing team.
• Ensure the product designs are assembled with the highest possible quality.
• Regular Travel is required between the factory in Casa Grande, AZ and Engineering HQ in Newark, CA

Qualifications:

• Engineering degree in mechanical or materials, MS preferred.
• 5 years automotive experience in vehicle closures.
• Experience in automotive manufacturing plants OEM or Tier1
• Previously participated in prototype build or manufacturing new product launch events.
• Experience in a continuous improvement function with tangible issue resolution and root cause analysis case examples.
• Working knowledge of Aluminum and Magnesium structures.

Advantageous:

• Experience in automotive manufacturing plants with OEM manufacturer or Tier1 supplier
• Experience with DFMEA and PFMEA.
• Quality Experience in Statistical Process Control, 8 Disciplines Problem Solving (8D) or Six Sigma
