    We are currently seeking a Sr. Engineer for battery regulatory compliance in the Vehicle & Battery Safety department. This position requires an experienced professional with knowledge of high voltage systems and regulatory requirements associated to it. Our ideal candidate exhibits a can-do attitude and approaches his or her work with vigor and determination. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate excellence in their respective fields, to possess the ability to learn quickly and to strive for perfection within a fast-paced environment.

    The role:

    • Travel and participate to expert committee drafting regulations and standards in Europe.
    • Be responsible for capturing incoming requirements and timeline affecting current and future company projects (vehicle and ESS).
    • Work closely with the multiple cross-functional teams: public policy, legal, homologation and powertrain.
    • Network with professionals and academic partners to develop Lucid knowledge of EV market evolution and represent the company position.
    • Communicate externally with suppliers to ensure the regulatory and standard roadmap is considered in the future supplied products. 

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical, or Mechatronic Engineering, Material Science Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Physics, Chemistry, and other related fields
    • 3+ years of experience in HV systems, preferably batteries
    • Experience in tracking and documenting requirements.
    • Able to make clear, detailed synthesis for internal engineering use.
    • High level of organizational skills
    • Excellent communication skills and team-oriented attitude
    • Comfortable with initiating and taking ownership of projects
    • Flexibility to work in a fast-paced startup environment with frequent prioritization adjustments.

    Advantageous:

    • Experience with technical working groups in European or global institutions (European Union, UN, WLTP, Governments, National Transport Authorities, etc.…)
    • Capable to contextualize technical / engineering information in legal documents / resolutions / position papers.
    • Experience with Atlassian, Jira and Confluence
    • Knowledge of planning organization, e.g. Gantt
    • A history of working independently with limited oversight or input once a base understanding has been established
    • Experience with requirement system (DOORS, JAMA…)
    • An ability to mitigate unforeseen problems creatively and effectively
