We are currently seeking a senior firmware/software engineer for energy products. Our ideal candidate exhibits a can-do attitude and approaches his or her work with vigor and determination. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate excellence in their respective fields, to possess the ability to learn quickly and to strive for perfection within a fast-paced environment.

The Role:

• Contribute to overall system architecture
• Design and implement software of embedded devices and systems from requirements to production and commercial deployment
• Design, develop, code, test and debug system software
• Interface with hardware design and development
• Test, validate, and troubleshoot controller implementation.
• Develop and utilize computer simulations Matlab/Simulink, HiL, SiL.
• Get involved with hands-on development writing C code and model-based code generation experience
• Show a positive attitude and motivation to perform whatever tasks necessary to get the job done
• Show aptitude with a variety of engineering tools such as data loggers, software debuggers, oscilloscopes, multi-meters

Qualifications:

• Proven working experience in software engineering
• Experience in hands-on development and troubleshooting on embedded targets
• Experience in debugging of low-level embedded projects using embedded microprocessor tools
• Proficiency in C/C++, familiarity with MISRA C a plus.
• Proven experience in embedded systems design with preemptive, multitasking multiprocessor real-time operating systems
• Excellent knowledge of OS coding techniques, IP protocols, interfaces and hardware subsystems
• Secure Bootloader implementation experience with HSM
• Adequate knowledge of reading schematics and data sheets for component
• Strong Embedded C experience to deliver high quality C code. Multicore micro-controller programming skills. Experience in using Debugger.
• Experienced with microcontroller peripherals: ADC, DAC, PWM, SPI
• Can read the hardware schematics and work with hardware team to define software the requirement
• Knowledge of product safety concepts to meet the industry standard
• Embedded C programming and debugging experience at the hardware level
• Good working knowledge of real time operating systems (RTOS), memory management, timers, tasks and threads
• Embedded communication protocols with secure communication such as TLS (CAN, RS-485/UART, Ethernet, Wi-Fi, LTE) and OTA application
• Familiarity with software configuration management tools, defect tracking tools, and peer review
• Strong documentation and writing skills

Preferred:

• Experience in AUTOSAR configuration tools like EB Tresos is a PLUS
• Hands on knowledge of AUTOSAR Classic on various layers - MCAL/BSW/CDD/RTE/Applications
• Experience writing safety diagnostic code especially for automotive and ESS is a huge PLUS
• Previous experience with design according to ISO26262 with focus on functional safety is a PLUS
• Experience in working AURIX Tricore family of processors (TC2xx) based controllers.
• Experience on embedded applications for industry or residential energy management system
• Large volume product development experience

Education:

• BS minimum in the areas of Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or other related fields
• Ideally 5+ years of work experience
• Advanced degrees preferred

Salary Range: The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors. 

·       California (Bay Area) - $127,000 - 181,500/yr.
