    We are currently seeking a Technical Project Manager, Battery Software. This position requires an experienced professional with a proven track record of excellence and managerial achievement. The candidate is an accomplished program/project manager and/or systems engineer of battery management system (BMS), with strong organizational capabilities and the ability to influence and coordinate with talented engineering teams and stakeholders, for a seamless technical program development. The candidate communicates effectively to ensure each individual team member remains aware of the most relevant program milestones, and deliveries expectations placed by the vehicle program team. Critical issues are promptly identified and brought up to senior management alongside a concise action plan. Our ideal candidate exhibits a can-do attitude and approaches work with vigor and determination. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate excellence in their respective fields, to possess the ability to learn quickly and to strive for efficient progression within a fast-paced and complex work environment.

    The Role:

    • Accompanies vehicle programs from the conceptual design phase to the start of production, including series maintenance and model changes.
    • Catalyzes development and production of our world-acclaimed battery products for Formula E motorsports, stationary energy storage systems, and mass market passenger vehicles.
    • Manages the technical development program of the high-voltage battery embedded software, including support and coordination for system design specification, integration, verification and validation processes.
    • Coordinates introduction of and updates to cell chemistries, hardware, and battery models with Cell, Electrical, and HV Mechanical teams to ensure timely software delivery.
    • Executes battery software and cross-functional feature release plan with Controls, Platform, Infotainment software, and Data Science teams.
    • Designs and implements effective program management processes and best practices from initiation to completion in partnership with software, hardware, and manufacturing teams.
    • Executes solid root-cause analysis with the ability to identify and predict possible deviations related to product architecture- or any other technical change.
    • Proactively evaluates design and engineering decisions, making sure they don’t cause any gap in correlation with the program schedule.
    • Expedites revisions, corrections, and implementation of necessary changes to previously published documentation.
    • Fosters strong cross-dimensional partnerships and is able to effectively prioritize workload demands to meet project deadlines.

    Qualifications:

    • 3+ years of experience in technical leadership or program management of BMS software.
    • 5+ years of professional experience in the automotive industry.
    • A proven track record of development and delivery of technical products.
    • Experience in automotive software development processes.
    • Experience in mobile, embedded and firmware systems as a hands-on driving leader.
    • Experience with software verification, validation and integration processes.
    • Experience with Agile software product management methodologies.
    • Experience building, developing, and managing highly effective program management tools and processes.
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with ability to work in a high-pace highly complex cross-functional environment.
    • Excellent organization and delegation skills with ability to own the product roadmap and schedule with a track record of delivering projects on-time.
    • Ability to inspire confidence to the executive members as well as the engineering project teams.
    • Ability to quickly comprehend complex problems and effectively facilitate the team to a decision and coordinate the action plan.
    • Solid root-cause analysis sense with the ability to correlate e.g. product architecture modifications to technical changes.
    • Solid skills in evaluation and criticism of engineering decisions and changes.

    Advantageous:

    • Experience as embedded software or algorithms engineer for automotive BMS or controls ECUs
    • Experience with hardware-related system development (e.g. complex control units, vehicle electrical architecture, etc.)
    • Knowledge of automotive and safety standards (e.g. ASPICE, ISO26262, etc.)
    • Experience with Atlassian Software (JIRA , Confluence).

    Education Requirements:

    • BS or MS in Software/Electronics Engineering, or equivalent. Master’s degree is highly valued.
    • Project Management training. PMP certificate is highly valued.

    Salary Range: The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.

    California (Bay Area) - $127,000 - $181,500
