    Job Highlights

    As a Technical Specialist Concept Engineer in the Advanced Engineering organization, you will start the foundation of the design for the future of electric vehicles. You will work directly with the Chief Engineer on new vehicle programs to quickly iterate through multiple ideas and concepts on multiple different systems. You will sit in the Design Studio with our exterior and interior studio team. Together you will iterate back and forth to achieve excellence in design and engineering.

    This role is open to Sr. and above levels of experience. Your exact job level (Sr. Engineer, Tech Specialist, Sr. Tech Specialist, etc.) will be defined by the experience and technical ability you have. However, this role and team will be a mixture of different experience levels all working together to make groundbreaking products with amazing innovation. 

    The Role:

    • Design and develop concepts from a blank canvas in order to achieve architecture proposals for future vehicles
    • Quickly CAD parts for systems across the vehicle which includes, but is not limited to: Body-In-White, Closures, Suspension, Interiors, Exteriors, Seating, High Voltage, Low Voltage and General Packaging
    • Create kinematic models that are designed for quickly iterating through multiple shapes and motions
    • Evaluate different types of manufacturing methods for achieving the best combination of weight, attributes and cost
    • Work closely with stakeholders and attribute owners across the company which includes, but is not limited to: Vehicle Safety, Vehicle Dynamics, NVH, Durability, Craftmanship, Styling and Manufacturing
    • Manage multiple complex projects in a demanding environment

    Qualifications:

    • BS/BEng or MS/MEng, or equivalent experience, in Mechanical Engineering
    • 5+ years of relevant experience
    • Proven CAD experience and excellence in design
    • Knowledge of mechanisms and how to run kinematic models
    • Exceptional understand of physics and material science, and proven track record of application of those theories to component/vehicle design
    • Hands-on practical experience in prototype assembly, vehicle assembly or vehicle service
    • A strong desire to create state-of-the-art engineering products as an integral part of a capable team
    • Experience and/or good knowledge of manufacturing processes (Extrusions, Castings, Stampings, etc.)
    • Travel domestically and internationally up to 20% if needed

    Advantageous:

    • Experience and proficiency with CATIA V5/V6 or similar software preferred
    • Knowledge of high voltage architectures
    • Knowledge of vehicle crash safety principles
    • Knowledge of vehicle dynamics principles
    • Knowledge of NVH principles
    • Ability to run CAE analysis tools
