We are currently seeking a Validation Engineer to join our Charging Systems team. This position requires an experienced professional who is passionate about electric vehicles, has knowledge in both software and hardware testing with wide background in-vehicle charging, standards and interoperability. Our ideal candidate exhibits a can-do attitude and approaches his or her work with vigor and determination. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate excellence in their respective fields, to possess the ability to learn quickly and strive for perfection within a fast-paced environment.

The Role:

• Member of the Charging Systems validation team who will be responsible for validation of Lucid smart energy ecosystem which includes several products (Lucid AC charger)
• Validate and debug features at the system level and release the changes to production
• Lead and own test plan definition for new products with feedback from product team developers and fleet failures
• Creating test cases based on knowledge/experience with ISO 15118, OCPP and OCPI protocols
• Lead new feature definition testing, regression testing to have successful launch of product
• Serve as primary contact person to core development teams, and to public fleet issues that affect customer
• Clearly communicate test results, collaborate with stakeholders globally to discuss issues detected and work on next action plan
• Track the issues observed in testing, participate in triaging those with Software Developers/Systems Engineers for root cause identification and its solution

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of testing background in automotive (or related) domain or battery validation
• Experience and technical background in EV vehicle operation, charging ecosystem, EVSE
• Hands-on experience with electrical and software engineering components and an understanding of how they interact in a complex product
• Exceptional analytical problem-solving skills, able to identify and surface issues within complex HW/SW systems
• Understanding of the ISO 15118 and one of the following standards IEC61851, J1772, OCPP, OCPI, CCS1, CCS2,Wifi
• Experience with tools such as CANalyzer/ CANoe, Wireshark, CANape, Sniffer, Jama, Jira
• Working closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders in a technology environment
• Experience with electrical signals CAN, LIN, Ethernet, PLC Communication

Preferred:

• Ability to travel within or outside US to support testing with several vendors
• Experience on working in labs, creating test setups, failure scenarios in that environment

Education:

• BS minimum in an Engineering discipline such as Computer Science, Electrical Engineer, Mechanical Engineer or similar

Salary Range: The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.

·       California (Bay Area) - $108,000-$148,500

Additional Compensation and Benefits: Lucid offers a wide range of competitive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance, vacation, and 401k. The successful candidate may also be eligible to participate in Lucid’s equity program and/or a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing such programs.  (Cash or equity incentive awards, if any, will depend on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and company performance.)
