Responsible for managing security sales and business development activities for high-profile Department of Defense (DoD) branches and agencies – US Air Force, US Space Force, US Navy, US Marine Corps, Fourth Estate (noncombat support), etc. and the Defense Industrial Base. This role is responsible for the overall strategic development and implementation of the account plan and will showcase the full range of Lumen’s Cyber, Cloud, and Managed Service offerings to support emerging technology requirements within DoD. The successful candidate must be able to partner well with individual Account Managers and Directors who own these client territory modules (Air Force, Navy, USMC, etc) and business verticals to advocate on behalf of customer needs.
• Drive cyber and cloud-based sales within our existing DoD account base, with a particular focus on identifying opportunities in the security space
• Provides comprehensive account plans to win new business and retain existing revenue
• Broadens and deepens existing DoD relationships to develop strategic positioning
• Provides accurate and detailed weekly forecast funnel of identified and proposed opportunities
• Works closely with DoD customers to assess mission needs and identifies ways to leverage existing contracts
• Demonstrates knowledge of Lumen’s relevant cyber and cloud product suites and available contract vehicles and identifies competitive strengths or limitations that may be overcome through product development or industry partnerships
• Supports technical customer briefings at various levels of complexity to effectively communicate relevant objectives, potential solutions, and alignment to overall account goals
• Drives account management responsibilities including solution creation, solution offering, configuration management, order issuance, service delivery, service management, and revenue recognition
• Demonstrates a balance of strategic and tactical thought leadership
• Coordinates internally within the organization to advocate for customer requirements and use cases, to drive prioritization of on-going and future developments
• 5-10 years of sales or comparable Fed agency and/or DoD customer facing experience
• Understanding of the Information Technology (IT) and Security industry and competitive landscape
• Experience demonstrating solutions and communicating how they address security principles
• Experience demonstrating solutions and communicating how they address security principles
• Self-motivated, results-oriented professional with an ability to work with minimum direction.
• Experience working DoD cyber, cloud, and emerging technologies solutions and security requirements
• Familiarity with Industry frameworks (NIST 800-171, NIST 800-53 Rev 4/5, NIST 800-207, CMMC, etc.)
• Preferred: DOD Approved 8570 Baseline Certifications (CEH, CISM, CCNA Security, Security+ CE, CISSP, CCSP, etc.)
• Ability to obtain a Security Clearance

This position is eligible for either short-term incentives or sales compensation. Director and VP positions also are eligible for long-term incentive.
