    The Role

     Leads the Lumen SLED IDIQ contract acquisition, marketing, and deployment strategy for the defined region. Collaborating with business development, sales, product, and operational teams to acquire new and align existing Lumen SLED contracts within our product portfolio. Expected to leverage SLED data sources such as eRepublic, Navigator and other state procurement sites, to identify developing opportunities as well as expiring contracts. Required to develop and manage a 2-year IDIQ contract acquisition plan across identified states. Able to leverage existing, and develop new, relationships with CPOs and various procurement leaders across multiple states and with national SLED procurement contracts.  

    The Main Responsibilities

    • Superior understanding of SLED technology contracting at the state, national and cooperative level.  
    • Able to leverage market relationships to engage with State & Local Government at various levels at the state procurement office and expand Lumen engagement opportunities.  
    • Lead contracting and procurement conversations pre-RFP and align with Lumen solutions. Collaborate with sales, engineering, and product to identify opportunities that will expand the Lumen SLED contract portfolio. 
    • Able to execute a long-term strategy for SLED contract acquisition, from identification through award.  
    • Collaborate with marketing on the development & delivery of innovative contract marketing strategies across state and local government entities. Support the sales teams while providing contract awareness across all eligible contract buying entities (State Agencies, Local Gov & Education)   
    • Expected to be an advisor to SLED sales organization on state contracting policies and leverage best practices to identify innovative ways to provide technology solutions within the procurement policies for each state. 
    • Lead educational sessions for SLED sales teams, engineering teams, capture, PMO, marketing on the SLED contract landscape in key-states. 
    • Basic understanding of SLED technology standards such as HIPAA, NIST, FISMA, FedRAMP, etc.  
    • Represent Lumen at customer facing organizations, public events, association meetings, and serve on leadership committees and advisory councils at the state and national level.  
    • Able to create and deliver concise executive level presentations and host educational webinars as needed.  
    • Provide guidance and strategy around SLED eProcument and digital marketplace adoption around the country for SLED.  
    • Build relationships with solution partners and federal contracting peers to expand potential contract access for our Lumen SLED customers. 
    • Guide Lumen product, offer management and legal teams on new SLED contracting initiatives or legislation that will impact how Lumen interacts with state and local government. 

    What We Look For in a Candidate

    • 7-10 years of relevant SLED experience specifically with SLED Contract Expertise 
    • Extensive experience with database management, excel and salesforce  
    • Must be able to work productively in a matrix team environment. 
    • Strong organization skills imperative  
    • Must be able to develop, define and execute sales strategies in addition to clear concise communications with leadership  
    • Must be results oriented and have a proven track record showing high leadership qualities. 
    • Viewed as a Trusted Advisor by customers, sales teams and others. 
    • Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record 
    • Travel required 

    Certifications / Education 

    • Bachelor’s Degree or relevant experience required  
    • Highly skilled with collaboration technology and able to create an executive level presentation and creative with minimal administrative support

    This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

    This position is eligible for either short-term incentives or sales compensation. Director and VP positions also are eligible for long-term incentive.
