This role is directly involved in the end-to-end sales process. Interactions will include Sales, Sales Support (TSM), Pricing, Solutions Consultant/Engineer, and Legal. The person must be comfortable reaching out to these people/functions, as without this relationship and direct communication the role requirements cannot be completed successfully.
Build working relationships and trust with Sales executives and the rest of the business.
Become a knowledge source on process and alternative solutions for solving Commercial Management related problems.
Taking ownership of Contract related management matters new or existing customer relationships
Contract language creation with fast turnarounds.
Become a subject matter expert on Lumen commercial contracting principles.
Communicating effectively with all areas of the business
Vet custom operational and business commitments with internal organizations.
Work with Legal and Finance to ensure that Lumen's commercial position is protected in all-new contractual agreements put in place with clients.
Provide risk analysis
Balance and prioritise multiple activities and manage the overall delivery of information to customers and sales in the specified timelines.
Provide ongoing contract summaries to the business on existing contracts, and guidance on contract management “best practice”.
Feedback “lessons learned” to the business on problem contracts, to shape future contracting policy.
Working with and thoroughly understanding Lumen systems such as Salesforce, and CLM, pushing contracts and orders through these systems and seeking required approvals in a timely manner.
Work closely with Operations, Engineering, and Financial teams to ensure that the contractual position accurately reflects our abilities and does not expose Lumen.
Successfully negotiate and conclude limited commercial arrangements within the overall standard contract framework for new customers.
Understand the legal and commercial aspects of problems that arise during contract negotiations and deal with them in an efficient way
· Commercial, Legal, or Procurement experience preferably but not essentially in the telecoms/IT or similar high tec industry
· Existing knowledge of the structure of business contracts
· Excellent organisational and presentation skills.
· Able to cope and succeed in a high-pressure environment.
· Strong skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
· A team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
· Strong problem solving and planning skills
· Ability to manage one’s self
· Self-starter and motivator
