    The Role

    The Strategy and Shared Services Leader reports to Lumen’s Chief Security Officer (CSO) and is responsible for strategic planning and on-going business operations of the Global Security Services (GSS) organization. He or she oversees the strategy for growth of the security functions, including business plan development, creation and execution of new departments, services, and programs worldwide. In addition, they will oversee various aspects of the day-to-day logistics including executive presentations, interactions with business partners, and strategy planning and execution. This role will also be responsible for GSS shared services, including the program management office, organizational metrics, process automation, and talent/budget management.

    He or she will direct the activities of program and project leaders within the security function and manages relationships outside the security function to ensure all aspects of Lumen’s Security, Risk, and Operations projects are delivered to the business and our clients on time, within budget and successfully meets the expected risk remediation objectives. This leader will also continually review and addresses the relevance of efforts within the security function portfolio in relation to emerging business impact threats, operational risks and to help the enterprise achieve competitive advantage in the marketplace. He or she is also expected to develop, select, and motivate highly effective associates, managers, and directors to execute the Lumen Global Security Services’ mission.

    The Main Responsibilities

    • Relationship building between business stakeholders such as IT, HR, Internal Audit, Product teams.  Support of cross-business initiatives and customer advocacy.
    • Aiding in and ultimately ensure the timely completion of core security programs and projects.
    • Keeping CSO organized with logistics of meeting preparation, budget alignment, employee/talent engagement alignment, security strategy alignment.
    • Filtering upstream and downstream key information as it is shared.
    • Manages external business partners and subcontractor relationships including negotiating business terms and staffing.
    • Gate-keeping and monitor the flow of multi-platform communications to and from GSS leadership.
    • People management for PMO and Shared Services such as Tools & Automation team.
    • General understanding of all the security services and managing intake and prioritization.
    • Representing security for major company initiatives such as, transformational program, product launches, mergers, and acquisition.

    What We Look For in a Candidate

    •    Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field of study
    •    8+ years in Information Security, Information Technology, or operations management
    •    Demonstrated leadership experience working across teams and functions
    •    Demonstrated experience in an operations-focused role 
    •    Experience with budget management
    •    Consulting experience with a focus on security strategy and operations management
    •    Proven success in a project coordination role
    •    Nimble business mind with a focus on developing creative solutions
    •    Strong project reporting skills, with a focus on interdepartmental communication

    Additional Skills/Preferences:

    •    Excellent prioritization and project management skills
    •    Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate complex technical information in a way that non-technologists or security professionals understand
    •    Demonstrated experience in process improvement
    •    Demonstrated experience leading programs that have enterprise-wide impact
    •    Demonstrated understanding of [company]’s technology and security landscape
    •    Knowledge of Cloud-based knowledge management technologies and concepts related to security, governance, procurement, and administration
    •    Ability to achieve foundational security certificate (e.g. GIAC GISF) within first 18 months in role
    •    Master’s Degree in a relevant field of study
    •    Certifications that address project management (initiating, planning executing, monitoring and controlling, and closing), requirements development and management 
         processing, systems engineering, testing and evaluation, lifecycle logistics, contracting, business, cost, financial  management, leadership, strategic program management, 
         program lifecycle (initiating, planning, executing, controlling, closing), benefits management, stakeholder management, governance, system security, network infrastructure, 
         access control, cryptography, assessments and audits and organizational security

    This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

    This position is eligible for either short-term incentives or sales compensation. Director and VP positions also are eligible for long-term incentive.
