Lumen technologies has got an advanced fiber optic network to provide customers with various technology services all over the world. To provide our customer with world class IP, Transport, CDN and Security services we maintain and operate many gateway, ILA and subsea cable stations which are all connected via our own dedicated fiber optic cables. Additionally, we provide our customers with datacenter colocation services where we guarantee a 99.99% uptime per year of our space, power, and cooling services.
To make sure that all our Lumen locations and fiber network services are correctly maintained in EMEA we have a dedicated team of Field technicians who make sure that all these systems remain fully in service on a 24/7 basis during 365 days in the year. To strengthen our team in the Netherlands, we are looking for an ‘Operations Technician 1’ who will be based in our Amsterdam gateway office and from there will cover all our Lumen network locations in the Netherlands region.
When starting in the role of ‘Operations Technician 1’ you will be responsible for the day-to-day activities at the main Lumen gateway location in Amsterdam which will vary from patch works, supporting our datacenter colo customers, to complete the more complex installation works for small projects such as card adds, DWDM chassis installs, fiber optic cable testing and network grooms.
This role requires on call and out of hours responsibilities during the night and weekends which dependant on the criticality can either be done via the phone or require physical attendance on site.
Education Level: Associate Degree or an equivalent lower education such as secondary vocational education (MBO 3/ MBO 4 degree) with at least 2 years proven work experience in this role.
Field of Study: Engineering, Electronics and/or IT
