    The Role

    Corporate Systems People Services is part of Lumen's Product and Technology organization. As part of the People Services team, the Sr. Software Engineer will partner in an agile team environment to design, develop, and support multiple HR, Legal, Real Estate, and Services Procurement applications. Develop solutions across many disciplines and be responsible for producing and explaining solutions in the form of documented system requirements.

    The Main Responsibilities

    • Partners in an Agile Scrum team environment to be able to design, develop, code, test, debug and support in production new software or significant enhancements to existing software.
    • Works closely with business partners and technical staff to create technical solutions that meet business and technical requirements.
    • Collaborates with product developers in an agile team to define and implement effective and efficient automated tests.
    • Documents own work to promote transparency and reuse.
    • Builds production-quality enterprise-grade systems that achieve target SLAs for scalability, reliability, and performance on an agreed upon schedule.
    • Actively participates in code-review process.
    • Prioritizes and handles multiple concurrent projects and efforts.
    • Demonstrates accountability for successful completion of assignments and tasks.

    What We Look For in a Candidate

    • 5+ years of experience with a bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience (Computer Science or similar is preferred). 3+ years of experience with a master’s degree.
    • Up to date knowledge of current trends in software development.
    • Maintaining and resolving issues in a highly complex integration architecture.
    • Supporting various testing cycles including unit testing, integration, UAT and regression testing.
    • Experience with solution delivery via Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) processes and enterprise agile project management tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
    • Leveraging CI/CD pipelines as part of DevSecOps platforms to deliver code into test and production.
    • Experience in software development leveraging a variety of languages, especially Java, .NET.
    • Working knowledge of application servers like WebLogic, Jboss.
    • Proficient in building SOAP, RESTful APIs.
    • Experience with databases and query languages to support SQL, Oracle, and Cassandra.

    This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

    This position is eligible for either short-term incentives or sales compensation. Director and VP positions also are eligible for long-term incentive.
