    Position summary

    We are looking for a regional Business Operational Risk Management (BORM) Senior Analyst to support our Commodity Markets and Finance (CMF) division in the Americas. Working with the business, BORM is responsible for the risk assessment of processes and procedures related to the trading, hedging, financing, storage, management and movement of physical commodities around the globe. BORM assists the CMF businesses with risk-based decision making, and the identification and implementation of risk controls to mitigate, avoid or transfer risks inherent in the commodity businesses as they change and grow and expand into new markets.

    Commodity Markets and Finance provides a full spectrum offering to clients with exposure to commodity markets. The division provides risk management, lending and financing, and physical execution and logistics services across the energy, metals and agricultural sectors globally. The successful candidate will be located in Houston working across desks on a variety of levels, from incident management, to risk assessment of deal lifecycle management processes.

    The regional CMF BORM is required to understand deal lifecycle events across a variety of commodities, and acquire a knowledge of system and processes in the front office, back office and supporting groups in order to manage risks across the end to end management of transactions. In addition, the successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the business in applying critical policies that require in depth knowledge of physical risks.

    The CMF BORMs are part of the wider Commodity and Global Markets’ first line of defense. We are responsible for managing business risk and ensuring that the Risk Management Framework is embedded in the businesses we support and this included delivering Framework training to the business, as well as training specific to the CMF division risk profile.

    This position provides an opportunity to work in a global team with a presence in Houston, London, Singapore, and Sydney, focusing on a growing and dynamic business. Ideally, you will have 5 years’ of work experience, with at least 3 years in a position related to commodities trading, scheduling or logistics, risk management. To be successful in this role, you will have high achievement drive, with strong resilience and tenacity. Having an innovative mindset, strong relationship building and collaboration skills, and commitment to integrity are essential.
