Join an expanding team working across our Global Risk Surveillance Program. We are looking for an experienced professional to enhance and conduct surveillance over the firm’s Commodity Market & Finance business in the Americas.
This individual will be responsible for working with our Americas Head of Risk Surveillance and Global Commodity and Finance Surveillance Lead to monitor the trading activity for potential market manipulation and misconduct.
In this role, you will oversee the smooth running of the daily surveillance analysis, conduct deep dive investigations and regular reviews of non-exchange based (OTC) activities, and act as an escalation point for junior surveillance colleagues in their investigations.
You will ensure investigations are adequately documented and followed through to resolution in a timely manner and work with local Compliance staff to determine an appropriate, coordinated level of surveillance. As part of the role, you will also lead efforts to identify gaps and weaknesses in the current surveillance program, contribute to the design, development, and implementation of surveillance solutions, assist with regulatory/exchange requests and investigations, conduct trade reconstruction efforts, and perform team quality assurance controls.
You should have 3-5 years of experience in commodity and energy OTC markets and be knowledgeable of the operation and potential for manipulation across business processes, flows, booking methodologies and client interactions. Experience with the trading and marketing of crude and products is preferred.
Familiarity with trading systems, their data structures and interfaces, and understanding the role of Compliance within the banking and financial services industry will be necessary. In addition, you should be able to demonstrate a high proficiency in data manipulation and analysis, along with the ability to proactively identify and analyze problems and propose viable solutions.
Knowledge of Commodity Futures Trading Commission regulatory actions related to market manipulation and utilizing your strong communication skills to develop relationships across various stakeholders, including local and regional advisory Compliance staff, Technology, and the business, will all help you to be successful in this role.
