Works with the mechatronics system group for primarily system level support, with some vehicle calibration, and testing activities from time to time. This group focuses on data collection and analysis, with support to the vehicle applications team for software definition/calibration. The co-op position will help the group optimize the control strategy and ensure the vehicle performs as desired on actual production programs. The co-op position will also help the group develop and optimize new strategies for future production programs.
Team Summary:
The Systems Engineering, Base Controls team is responsible for definition of the mechatronic system, including control algorithms and electrical architecture for innovative and leading-edge solutions in driveline applications. This group works closely with customer or internal requirements and hardware component technologies to provide robust design solutions to develop, document, and maintain the mechatronic system development best practices and software control logic.
Key Responsibilities
Working knowledge of data acquisition tools.
Exposure to simulation and analysis with Matlab.
Knowledge about electromechanical systems used in driveline systems (primarily AWD/4WD).

Requirements and Qualifications
Minimum 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.
Enrolled in an engineering program with an accredited school.
Understand the basics of engineering theory and principles of design
Knowledge in computer-based software, strong organizational/communication skills, and ability to work with others in a team environment.
Work Environment
Office Environment; limited travel required.
While working in this environment, the employee will be exposed to machinery, moving equipment and material, moderate noise, airborne particles, fumes, and various levels of temperature created by manufacturing processes.
