In this role, you can make an immediate impact for a Leading Global Technology Company, MasterCard. The Manager role is responsible for leading Agile Feature teams collaborating with teams across the company to implement new data solutions while maintaining the stability of the platform. You'll work within the Fraud Data Engineering team to grow their knowledge and expertise. You will get the chance to work with extremely large data sets and be on the cutting edge of transforming the way Mastercard captures, processes, stores and visualizes transactional data.

    Primary Responsibilities
    • Responsible for planning, developing, and executing projects to meet business needs.
    • Understand the systems scope and project objectives, as well as the role and function of each team member, in order to effectively lead the project team and ensure that business needs are met.
    • Ensure timely and accurate communication with project staff and key stakeholders throughout the life cycle of the project.
    • Regularly communicate to management regarding the status of specific project deliverables.
    • Identifies key barriers to a projects or departments success and actively manages all mitigation activities.
    • Prioritize and provide input into cross application/system enhancements, new products, processes, standards or plans in support of the business.
    • Effectively deal with and develop solutions to moderately difficult problems.
    • Provide technical support to Business Owners during implementation of new products/services.
    • Determine development impacts to current processing and work with analysts and engineers to ensure accuracy of enhancements.
    • Document and coordinate audit controls and PCI requirements.
    • Provide strategic thinking and leadership related to a wide range of applications and systems, or software-development methodologies
    • Continuously engage and improve teams' performance by conducting recurring 1-1 meetings, knowing your people, managing career development, and understanding who is at risk
    • Provide and facilitate timely feedback, coaching in the moment, and mentoring for staff at all levels

    Knowledge and Skill Requirements
    • High-energy, detail-oriented and proactive with the ability to function under pressure in an independent environment.
    • High proficiency in using Python, Spark, Hadoop platforms & tools (Hive, Impala, Airflow, NiFi, Scoop), SQL in an enterprise environment.
    • Experience leading engineering teams and/or coaching and mentoring junior teammates.
    • Proficiency with Java/Spring Boot, Angular, AngularJS, Nod.js, JavaScript, Typescript, and SQL Server or other object-oriented languages, front-end frameworks, and/or relational database technologies.
    • High degree of initiative and self-motivation with a willingness and ability to learn and take on challenging opportunities.
    • Experience identifying and implementing technical improvements to development processes.
    • Experience leading a large technical effort that spans multiple people and teams.
    • Strong technologist with proven track record of learning new technologies and frameworks.
    • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with strong relationship, collaborative and organization skills.

    Location Requirements: This is a hybrid position based in Mastercard's O'Fallon, Missouri location.

    In line with Mastercard's total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary based on location, experience and other qualifications for the role and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role.
